“A steep hill, but worth the drive.”

Being able to look through telescopes! We saw Jupiter. Saturn and it was a bit hard to see the moon because of the clouds. A great experience for young and old alike

“Thrilling views of the stars and planets”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

We visited at night when various telescopes were available to see a double star, Jupiter, and Saturn. The latter was exciting to see through Lowell's original telescope. There are ongoing lectures from extremely knowledgeable astronomers. This is a working laboratory that is willing to educate those who come for a visit.

“Nice way to spend an afternoon”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

Quick & easy to get to the observatory from Flagstaff. Great views. Beautiful site. We did the solar viewing which is done from approx. 12-12:45. It was amazing to see the sun & solar flares through the telescope. The tours were well done. I think most adults that are interested in astronomy would enjoy their visit. There was not a lot for kids to do & the ones that were there seemed to be getting restless.

“Night experience”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

the history was amazing to learn. I went there at night and get to see Jupitor and the moon. It was really nice to actually see them with a big telescope for the first time. The night view from the top overlooking Flagstaff was amazing.

“Very interesting visit”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

We came here in the evening and got to look through some of the telescopes that had been put up in the courtyard. There are some interesting exhibitions and astronomers give talks about various topics. If you like stargazing, you'll enjoy this place.
