It was a very cold Saturday night in January when I visited, but it was TOTALLY worth it. I even got the flu because of this place, but it was still worth it. They had two telescopes that night and I saw Jupiter and the moon. I stopped back several times to view the moon. With the flu going around and everyone touching the step railings...that's where I got the flu. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly which made the cold visit tolerable. Two thumbs up!

Discovery Channel contributed money for their larger telescope that is 14 1/2 ft but the 24 inch one still let us view Jupiter with an educated scientist to answer all our questions. Very important to learn about the stars and asteroids even if you don't get to the crater outside Flagstaff. Very hands on!

lots of info & good guides--however because of weather conditions we couln't see anything that night--night view of the city was impressive --tours now available to Happy Jack to see the new telescope--that should be great!!
