This is a gorgeous site. The person with whom I was in contact was very friendly. I feel like this is somewhere between average and very good... but I rated on the side of my overall experience and despite some disappointments.
I wanted spa services (a spa party) that I was assured upon booking were easy to provide and that emerged as too complicated as the date of my arrival came close. I wish that I had known that I wouldn't be able to run the event I really wanted earlier. Yet, because my friends and I are pretty flexible and resourceful, we found other things to do (offsite). There was no breakfast, which was a surprise to me (as part of B&B is breakfast). I was also disappointed to find out only after I arrived on location that there would be a parade lineup right in front of the houses. That seemed like pretty important information to disclose when I was booking (or, perhaps, the rates should have been adjusted to reflect this). As the Inn provided donuts and coffee to the parade participants (beginning at 8 am, on the premises, and to which I and my guests were invited--so, perhaps, there *was* breakfast on one day), it seems that they knew well ahead of time that the parade (MTSU's homecoming) would happen during our stay. It would have been nice to know, ahead of time, that my friends may not be able to sleep in due to noise (which is what happened to at least 2 rooms of guests). I felt somewhat bamboozled upon finding this out.
The accommodations were lovely, however. The place has some lovely antiques, gorgeous wood floors, and great gas fireplaces, particularly in the Cottage. All of my friends loved how comfy the beds slept. The reception hall, while unused by me and my guests, is absolutely lovely. My friends and I had a wonderful time because we were able to cook for ourselves and commune in the space provided. I would suggest that this would be a great getaway for people who want a very hands-off B&B staff experience. There is no room cleanup during stay (which may or may not be standard--I'm not sure). It is more like renting apartments than a traditional bed and breakfast, as I understand it. Still, it is relatively reasonable in terms of rates, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing.
