Alfredo's is a pizza and pasta place in a South Scranton shopping center. The good is that there is plenty of convenient parking and no steps to traverse. The bad is that while there are outdoor tables and chairs, they overlook a large shopping center parking lot.
The place is often busy and though large, seating can take a while when busy, and they are often busy at peak times. It seems to be popular with larger groups too, and there are a few larger than 4 seat tables available. Decor is nothing fancy, but when the place is crowded and busy, it is of no consequence. It is a pizza and pasta place in a South Scranton shopping center. As such, it is what it is. A decent place for a pizza and/or pasta dish and a drink if you like.
Our favorite is the whole wheat pizza with spinach and sun dried tomato. Others like the squarish 'Old Forge Style" 'tray, which is a very cheesy version of this genre. To us,it is sort of bland and prefer a topping to spice it up, but then this becomes a formidable pizza in volume and you may take some home. Others prefer the round cheese pie, with a bit less cheese, again with a topping.
We haven't tried any of the pasta or other dishes. Some looked pretty good, but we can't opine yet. If we do try an entree, we'll update this. In the meantime we'll stick with the pizza and beer in a lively informal atmosphere.
The bar is OK and often busy. Martinis are good (Wednesday seems to be Martini night) but the so-so selection of draft and bottled beer could be improved.
All in all it is an OK and convenient pizza and pasta place in a South Scranton shopping center. Not that there is anything wrong with that...
