“Not Anything Like It Used to Be”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

When my kids were small, my husband and I used to go to Nay Aug Park ALL the time. My parents used to take us kids there all the time. I met my husband there! That being said, the park is not anything like it used to be. There used to be an amusement park there for the kids plus the zoo, of course. All of that is long gone. The Everhart Museum is interesting, and maybe add a picnic for a fun afternoon with the kids. The City of Scranton hosts different events there along with the museum's special displays (like Dinosaurs Alive many years ago). The annual light display for Christmas is definitely worth visiting the park for, but other than that ...

“Greenery in the city”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We stopped to see the 'treehouse' and took a small hike on one of the trails to try to see more of the gorge and flowing water. There was some 'reconstruction' going on, so we weren't able to venture too far. But, the short hike we took on the provided trail was fine for our outing.
The 'zoo' once in the park appears to be closed for some time. There is a nice newer large playground area for kids

“Nice walking area.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

It is a shame to see such a beautiful park left to slowly decay. That said, it is still a neat place to hike. The tree house is a nice stop, and the gorge lookouts are worth the visit.

“It was OK”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

The park overall needs a little work. The trails are in disrepair in some areas. Most of the trails we walked were noisy due to the highway being so close. It is an OK park, but not a must see.

This is a nice place to walk and get your workout for the day ahead of you....There are swings for the kids and the water slides are nice on a really warm day...
