I am a regular at this place. It is a typical first generation immigrant ethnic restaurant: It is all about the food. Quality is high, prices are reasonable. Service is efficient. There is no romantic ambience. The bonus is that I can speak Vietnamese with the owner.

Went here for lunch a few Sundays ago after craving some Vietnamese food. Clean quaint little restaurant which appears to be ran by the family who owned it. We came before the lunch crowd (yes on a Sunday) came in. The place was getting packed with both eat-in and take out customers. They have an extensive menu for a small place but now after my meal there, I wish they concentrated on just few and mastered them. People who came in after us were getting their food but not us. The server came to our table to apologize that our order ticket fell from the kitchen hook and they just realized it now. Instead of trying to alleviate the problem by offering us something else to drink (or any quick appetizers) he just walked away. Finally our food came appetizers and entree' all at once. The food was flavorful and delicious; the other appetizer we ordered came after our meal. If you're not ordering Pho you will have to WAIT (the group behind our table was waiting too long that they changed their order from eat-in to take out). The place appears to have a loyal following that looks the other way when they have to wait for their meal or asking for a fork takes 10 minutes. Maybe I would've had a better experience at this place if it wasn't packed but with 50 + capacity restaurant that will be hard....

Short answer: Vinh Chau. Have you ever had a happy pancake? Have you ever had a happy pancake at Vinh Chau? Forget all your previous experiences. Order the happy pancake at Vinh Chau, and you will become a regular (I eat there at least once a week).

And not just the happy pancake. I have never had a bad meal there. The soups are all great, the stir fry's are tasty and plentiful.

The folks at Vinh Chau are like family. Sometimes I feel like I just entered Cheers and everyone yelled out "Bob".

The prices are shockingly reasonable. You can leave there completely satisfied for under $10.

Parking is a little tricky the first time if you are not familiar with the area. But there is a large parking lot across the street. Once you find that, you will have no problem.

Vin Chau is a Sunday dinner staple for us. The food is always fresh and tasty and our waiter Tu is always helpful. The fresh spring rolls are a must try. If you're afraid to try Vietnamese food, don't be. All of the friends we have taken there have loved it.

Absolutely fresh food! Best Vietnamese in region!! You come here for the food, not the atmosphere which is very sparse. Tip-off should be seeing other Vietnamese eating here. Menu is very extensive and all food appears to be made to order. A must is the Vietnames pancake for an appetizer!
