“Tasty food, quirky 75 yr old German restaurant”
Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

We actually were supposed to go to the Big E but after 45 minutes of sitting In traffic we went onto trip advisor and decided to try out this restaurant. We had lived in Germany for 3 years and were feeling nostalgic. We were not disappointed. The wait staff was very friendly and our server Jeff went out of his way to give us a mini tour of this historic restaurant and its collections of beer steins etc Our food was delicious. There were 3 of us. We had the lamb special, the sauerbraten and the lamb shank, my husband had scallops as an appetiser which he really enjoyed. We travel this way fairly often and our looking forward to our next meal there.

“Gone here several times”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

This was the first times we brought our three boys. The food was ok but wasn't as good as we remembered. I had the German Sampler plate. The Hungarian Goulash was a bit dry and cooked down. It was like all the fat was drained from the meat so it was chewy. The bratwurst was cold and flavorless.

The services was good. Our waiter was very attentive and tried to immediately fix the problems but even the replacement was only ok. Just a little bit of a let down from when I would go here as a kid.

My other half said his food was fine and loved it. So obviously it was only the dish that I ordered was having problems.

“Love Their German Food!”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Been here many times. Usually excellent service. Old school German food expertly prepared. Service is fast for a work day lunch. Pork cutlet with mushroom gravy is the BEST! Spaetzle, pan fried potatoes, gravys, sausages, cucumber salad. Yummy!

“Great Food and Cool Atmosphere”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

Food is consistently good. Service is perfect. Some vegetarian selections on the menu. The fried Camembert is outstanding. Opt for the Roquefort dressing...it's to die for. The decor is amazing.
