I especially enjoy looking at all the old Asian artifacts.. I remember the large plaster casts of the Roman Statues as a child, and love going to the George Walter Vincent Smith Museum to see them again now that they are on display again.. This museum offers new surprises every time we visit..

This was a nice, if bit unfocused and small art museum. It seems that the museum has one room dedicated to each artistic period from the Mediaeval time forward. It is like a survey of western art history, although without much depth. We did enjoy the Impressionist room and the temporary exhibit on Tiffany lamps.

If you plan on going more than once to the museum then buy the membership as you gain access to the other Springfield museums plus reciprocal entry at a number of other museums around the country.

The twig schulpture adds to the value of the museums and the quadrangle experience. Make sure to check museum and library hours.

We enjoyed our visit to this smallish science museum. They have worked to evolve the exhibits and space to incorporate hands on activities for the kids; there are however still a fair number of diaramas. The temporary Lego Castle exhibit was nice mix of hands on as well as display of fantastic Lego structures. If you plan on going more than once then buy the membership as you gain access to the other Springfield museums plus reciprocal entry at a number of other science centers around the country.
