“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Attentive and accomodating staff. Modern, clean hotel with nice ammenities. Convenient for visits to the Basketball HOF. Wouldn't venture too far from hotel into surrounding environs of Springfield though.

Room Tip: Request a room on the north side of hotel if possible. Also, if you want breakfast you'll have...

This is probably one of the cleanest hotels I've been to. The room was spotless. Even under and behind the bed. Smelled clean also. This hotel caters to people going to the Basketball Hall of Fame, which is at the other end of the parking lot. This was our reason to stay here. Lot of groups, kids, but the staff keeps everything clean. Too many bar/restaurants that draw a large late night local crowd. Don't know why they are in same building as the HOF. Seems strange. This causes the parking lot to fill up. I'm told that starting April, weekends are busy and there is outdoor music. Not too bad on our visit. Uno restaurant adjoining hotel. Great food and service. Prices ok. Parking lot should be lit up better, but there is private security driving around. Pool and gym clean.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the Hall of Fame. Otherwise you'll be overlooking the highway and a truck rep...

We had an opportunity to stay at this HGI for a night and found it to be a nice property overall. It's not a typical HGI, but seems to be a remodel of a Sheraton. As others have said the lobby is very nice, service good and typical of the Garden Inn's. Our room seemed to be remodeled, but we noticed the linens were still branded Sheraton. Bed was comfortable. Our only complaint, as some others have noticed, is that the walls are thin and you can easily hear noise from the adjacent room. This is not a problem we typically have with other Hilton Garden Inn's. We did have to call security at 2am to complain about noise, and security was on top of it in a flash and the problem resolved.

The location is nice right next to the Basketball Hall of Fame, and you can walk to a number of casual restaurants.

The breakfast buffet was typical HGI, but at a very reasonable $12 per person. Seating however is not sufficient for a busy weekend crowd. Overall, I'd recommend this property.

The only reason I did not give this hotel a 5 is due to the noise from the highway on our side of the hotel. Other than that the hotel was great. All of the staff was awesome, the décor was beautiful and our rooms were great as well.

Room Tip: Request a room that is not facing the highway.

We have stayed here numerous times in the years our daughter was in college - she just graduated! I have been meaning to write a review but never got around to it. The service is always is excellent - everybody from the desk to the breakfast area, pool area is very knowledgeable to helpful. You only have to ask and you will receive prompt service. The location is great - close to the interstate, lots of food choices and you can walk to the basketball hall of fame. The rooms are very clean and spacious and having the fridge and microwave, coffee maker is a great bonus. You can have food delivered from Uno's. The breakfast is great value and very good, too. Would recommend this to everyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the hockey hall of fame - great view!

It's a relatively new property for Hilton (remodeled from an old Sheraton) and the transformation is both cheerful and dramatic. The service is excellent, the location is very good considering the nearby surroundings, and the choices of nearby places to eat is Brilliant.

Overall a very enjoyable Stay in an otherwise industrial location.

Cheers!,
Keep up the Good Work HGI

Room Tip: Ask for a Room facing the Basketball Hall of Fame, at night it's a Brilliant view.

I stayed here for one night a few weeks ago. Great hotel. The best thing about this place is the location - right off of interstate 91, within walking distance of the basketball hall of fame. This was my first time in springfield and getting to and from this hotel was easy b/c it is literally next to the highway. There is a pizzeria UNO's within a 1 mins walk and several (good) local bar/restaurants within a 4-5 mins walk, which is a big plus. There is ample free parking. The front desk staff were kind and professional. My room was clean and quiet and well maintained. Free in room wifi was a plus. I thought the gym was a bit small but certainly adequate for a quick workout. I did not use the pool or hot tub, but they looks decent. If i ever go to Springfield again, I would definitely stay here again.
