In our Gallant Adventure there were 4 people our tour with Paul, our captain
As a photogragher, I knew what images I hoped to capture.
We saw whales, otters, sea lions, sea urchins, a variety of sea life and even a horned puffin.
We were so close to a whale that we heard it breathe in and got sprayed when it breathed out!
I loved the small group with a local, experienced captain who goes out of his way to exceed the expectations of his guests!
I left with a camera full of amazing photos and a mind full of exciting memories.
This was a once in a lifetime adventure that I hope others will try!

If you are looking for an affordable excursion that is not booked through a cruise line, definitely consider Paul and Gallant Adventures. He has two times that you can tour- 7:30am and 11am and each tour is close to 3 hours long. Paul is a terrific guide and will point out all the interesting parts of Sitka. He is extremely knowledgable about the wildlife and the best places to see things. We were about 10 feet away from a lot of whales as they dove and swam through the water- very magestic. We also saw sea lions, puffins, otters, seals, and many birds. He has complimentary beverages and a very cozy boat. A definite must in Sitka.

First of all thanks again Paul. We found Paul to be knowledgeable and passionate about all things Alaska, truly a great guy wanting to share his love of nature. This guys doesn't just sit there and wait for whales, he hits the throttle and makes waves, you get the idea that he is just out there having a blast every time a whale is spotted. We saw over a dozen whales, the harbor sea lions and numeous sea otters all while safe and sound in the little cutty cabin onboard. The absolute beauty of cruising around Sitka bay/harbor was just priceless. Our wetsuited companions sat outside and they definitely needed the wet suits, you ladies were hard core in our opinion. Well worth the time and money in our opinion, Paul makes the difference.

Our family group of five (9-73yrs) arrived in Sitka by cruise ship and the tender dropped us at the same dock where Paul picked us up. Paul was super friendly and accommodating and we set off in his warm and cozy boat immediately. He asked us what we'd like to see and do and offered us complementary drinks. The tour and all the info Paul provided was great. We saw lots of beautiful islands and plenty of wildlife on our 2.5hr tour: stellar sea lions, starfish, humpback whale, otters, salmon, puffins, murres, auklettes. Paul is a wealth of information. We had a great day and would highly recommend Paul and Gallant Adventures.
