“Excellent way to see Sitka's wildlife!”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

Swinging through swells up to St. Lazaria island, we nudged up next to volcanic cliffs clustered with cormorants, with eagles and peregrine falcons perched nearby. We saw rafts of sea otters, including mothers and their pups. We had excellent views of Mt. Edgecumbe, snow-covered and imposing.Throughout this incredible experience, Pauli was knowledgeable and professional, sharing his rich knowledge of Sitka and Southeast Alaskan wildlife; knowledge that is only earned through years of practical experience. He knows local ecology and will gladly pass on what he knows to you. Highly recommended!

“The Best Boat Tour”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

I just wanted to give a raving review to Capt. Paul Davis and Gallant Adventures. We are on a 3 week trip in late March split between Sitka, Alaska and Maui, Hawaii to see whales in both locations doing different things. While we saw lots of whales on several different tours here in Hawaii, they didn't even come close to the experience we had in Sitka with Paul as it was SO MUCH more personal and we learned so much about everything from the whales to the sea otters to the food chain to the geology. The trip with Gallant Adventures was an overall learning experience, not just a whale watch. AND he only takes a max of 6 passengers, not 30+ like many others! In addition to humpbacks, we saw a grey whale, rafts of sea otters, bald eagles, spawning herring, sea lions and seals. It even snowed while we were on tour in march. I never imagined watching whales in the snow! This is undoubtedly the best boat your we have ever done!

“Phenomenal, Once in a lifetime.”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

My trip with Paul was an experience I will never forget. He's not only a professional mariner, but a great teacher of the Alaska outdoors. I've been around the world and realized you can have such a fantastic time for so little cost. 2 thumbs way up !!

“Simply The Best”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

We departed Sitka with Captain Paul Davis on a beautiful sunny day with flat calm water. Captain Paul was an amazingly enthusiastic guy, obviously very knowledgeable and loves seeing people having fun out on the water. We saw Humpback whales, Sea Otters, Eagles, Eagle Nests, River Otters, Grizzly Bears (with cubs!!), Gray Whales, and deer. Well worth every penny we spent and I would recommend this small family owned operation to anyone. Thanks Captain Pauli!

“Our Favorite Alaskan Memories”
Reviewed December 21, 2011

We had high expectations for this excursion and were not disappointed. Our family went out with Capt. Paul Davis and had the best time. He took us to some of his favorite places while making stops every time we crossed paths with something of interest. And let me tell you, we made a lot of stops! not only did we go through narrow channels channels between islands called "keyholes" but we saw waterfalls and avalanche chutes that met the ocean. In addition to the amazing scenerym we saw quite a few humpbacks (one surfaced so close we smelt whale breath!), 2 HUGE rafts of sea otters, a Steller sea lion, several bald eagles (including an eaglette in its nest), a handful of puffins, rhinocerous auklettes, seals hauled out on Kamenoi rocks and salmon stacked up at the base of a waterfall. It was evident that Paul knew his stuff as we learned so much about everything we saw and his enthusiasm was contagious. This trip was not only the highlight of our trip to Alaska, but one of the coolest things we've done as a family. I highly recommend Paul Davis and Gallant Adventures anytime!
