This was the BEST experience to see the REAL Alaskan wildlife in Sitka.
The Capt. sure knows his stuff, very informative, knowledgeble, and funny too!
Seeing whales, bald eagles, otters in their natural environment-very special!
A must when traveling in this area.

Captain Bart runs a small outfit with a maximum of 6 guests on his boat which allowed him to give us a personal narration about the humpback whales, sea otters, sea lions, porpoise, harbor seals, bald eagles, seabirds and other wildlife we would see on our tour and enabled him to answer questions in great detail. This private experience made us feel very special, as we saw a big cruise ship excursion boat in Sitka Sound with tons of people loaded on it. Being an independent, the Captain was also able to take special requests; something you can’t expect from the BIG guys. If taking pictures of whales, I would recommend a video camera, as breaching (and fins) happen so fast, other cameras miss out.

The Captain has over 30 years diving, fishing and guiding here and knows the area like the back of his hand. Bart did an exceptional job finding whales and wildlife. It was obvious that the Captain loves what he is doing and his enthusiasm for whales and the Alaskan environment is contagious. This was the best excursion of our Alaskan vacation. A bucket-list “must-do” in a lifetime. We had a fabulous trip.
