The room was awesome. We got the attic loft, which was a very large room considering most B&B. It was very unique with a separate bedroom and sitting room. Donna was our hostess and she did a fantastic job in making you feel welcome and right at home. She prepared your eggs just like you wanted them every morning along with the biggest breakfast you could imagine. It was close to Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive.

Room tip: Select the attic loft for an interesting room!

We stayed here as part of a road trip from Washington to key west and stayed there after driving part of the skyline drive. Donna welcomed us with cake and cupcakes. We could use the kitchen for making drinks. We were in the loft bedroom which was amazing. Very spacious. Donna recommended Speakeasy as somewhere to eat and it was delicious. We sat in the garden in the gazebo which was lovely although we didn't use the hot tub. Breakfast was awesome probably the best we've had with a massive bowl of fresh fruit a cooked breakfast and then cinnamon French toast. Amazing place to stay and Donna was just lovely and friendly

We stayed two nights at Woodruff house, and enjoyed it immensely. Donna made us feel totally welcome. The home is older, and unlike some B&B's hasn't been gutted and restored to perfection. It's well maintained but feels lived in. She was very accommodating about my food allergies, and breakfast was excellent and plentiful. There were also snacks, tea and coffee available at all hours. We were surprised to find that we could have used the kitchen if we wanted to prepare other meals instead of eating out, as long as we cleaned up after ourselves. We didn't take advantage, but might have if we had a more extended stay. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the evening too. Donna gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and shopping, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If travel plans take us south through VA again, we'll likely try to route through Luray so we can return.

It is worth noting that as an older home it's not accessible. If you can't do stairs, it's not a good choice. Also there's a railroad crossing in the area, several blocks away, and the trains sound their whistle as they pass through town. I found it a homey reminder of my childhood, but light sleepers might not appreciate it.

We totally loved our stay at the Woodruff BnB. It felt as if we were transported back in time, thanks to the lovely 19th century feel, which has been perfectly maintained. We cannot thank Donna & Jon enough for their loving hospitality! From the moment we stepped in, we were pleasantly surprised with their kind gestures. The handwritten Thanksgiving card on the bed, the delightful breakfast and handy tips on sight-seeing. Truly, our stay at Woodruff was one of the prime reasons why our trip to Luray was so much fun! Highly recommended :)

Lovely stay! Donna is an extremely welcoming and helpful host. The B&B is located just outside the Shenandoah. Rooms are clean, breakfast is delicious and Donna leaves small bites for your afternoon/supper snack. Main Street is also a delightful place to walk around and the meatloaf at Speakeasy was good.
