We had a great stay at Piney Hill; it's so peaceful and serene, with wonderful views of the mountains and surrounding fields and farms. And the drive up into Shenandoah NP for hiking and exploring was easy, with great suggestions and trails mapped out for us by the hosts. Breakfasts were outstanding and the whole atmosphere was just cordial, relaxed and totally enjoyable. Luray's not exactly a dining out capital, but it's a great spot to unwind and smell the roses.

This was our first experience in a bed and breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and definitely a home environment. You are welcomed as if you have known them them for years. The service was excellent, breakfast was out of this world. The home is beautifully decorated and the scenic view is amazing. Was relaxing sitting on the porch looking at the mountain view as the sun went down as awesome. You will not be more welcomed in any other place than Piney Hill! Definitely will be going back!

This B&B is fantastic. Very peaceful location with beautiful views and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Breakfast was wonderful and had generous portions, they are great about accommodating dietary restrictions. The owners are fabulous people who are very welcoming and gave great suggestions for hikes and things to do. The rooms are very comfortable. Animal lovers should note that there are several adorable cats on the property, but those who are not cat fans should know they are all outdoor cats and will leave you alone unless you look for them.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our one year anniversary and LOVED our first B&B experience, it was soo cozy and relaxing! We stayed in the Hurley Byrd cottage. The cottage decor was so cute and very private, and the views from the porches were spectacular. We even got lucky with a beautiful full moon Friday night!
Our favorite was of course the breakfast both mornings! We loved loved eating out on the porch, enjoying the view, and the food was delicious! We spent our day hiking at Shenandoah, having a picnic lunch out there, visiting a vineyard, and dinner out in town. We came back to our cabin to some surprise cake, which was so yummy! I loved that little personal touch.
Definitely highly reccomend a stay at Piney Hill, and hope to myself again in the future :)

My wife and I recently stayed with Hank and Wiley to celebrate our 7th anniversary. We wanted simply a quiet weekend away and were overjoyed with what we received with at the Piney Hill B&B. We stayed in the Rosebud cottage which is perfectly set up with a screened in front porch and a seating area on the back deck. The front porch looks out at the house and the beautiful gardens that Hank and Wiley have developed. The back deck has a great view of the mountains and is perfect for watching the stars at night. The breakfast was 5 star, with great options every morning. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch reading and an overall relaxing weekend.

Thanks Hank and Wiley

Room Tip: The cottages are worth the money if you are looking for seclusion on your stay.

My husband and I recently stayed in the Hurley Byrd cottage for three nights and my mother in law stayed in the Emma Ruffner room in the main house. Hank & Wiley are wonderful hosts and everything about Piney Hill is perfect. We experienced a warm and sincere welcome--we felt like we were "home". Everything was so pretty and the innkeepers have thought of everything--it was amazing! Our breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. My husband is hiking the AT and they even prepared his breakfast the night before and delivered it to the cottage for his early morning departures. We enjoyed the property (it is very quiet) and the views from the cottage are divine. We enjoyed our visit so much that we are planning a much longer visit next year. We have stayed in B&B's all over the world--Piney Hill is at the top of our list. They really deserve 5+ stars!

Room Tip: Recommend the Hurley Byrd Cottage

From the moment we Hank and Wiley greeted us in the driveway, we knew it was going to be a GREAT stay. Piney Hill is the BEST B&B we've stayed at. Their warm hospitality, delectable food, spot-on recommendations, quaint & comfy rooms, and gorgeous panoramic views made this our perfect getaway. We only wish we had more time to spend here. It is an easy drive to Shenandoah and other attractions in the area. We will certainly Piney Hill to others and hope to return soon!
