I decided to suprise my husband with a trip for our first anniversary. Neither of us had ever stayed at a B&B before, so I thought we would try it! We could not have asked for a better "first time" than what we had at Piney Hill!!!!!!! Hank & Wiley were fabulous hosts!! The accomedations were incredible!!!! The food.........off the charts!!!!!!! We stayed in the cottage, and despite cool, foggy/rainy weather had remarkable views...and we got to enjoy the coziness of the cottage. We can't wait to go back and would highly recommend to anyone who wants/needs a quiet get-away!!!!!!

  • Liked — Everything!!!! Very cozy & quaint! Hosts were wonderful! Food was great!
  • Disliked — Nothing!!! Wouldn't change a thing!!!!

The friendly innkeepers went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Very comfortable room, with all the amenities you might need for a romantic getaway, particularly the outdoor jacuzzi. Amazing homemade breakfast. Lots of activities nearby to keep you busy if you'd like, or you can just enjoy your time away from the city and take it easy.

The Piney Hill Bed & Breakfast is one of the most beautiful inns I have ever stayed at. (And I am really fussy abbout where I stay!)The decor is lovely. Hank has meticulously arranged each room in country splendor. I don't know what impressed me more...the fact that the inn was spotless or that Wiley could make such wonderful breakfasts day after day.

Our innkeepersw were warm and friendly. The pastoral setting was serene and relaxed. Everything about the Piney Hill is top notch. I would highly recommend it!

  • Liked — The inn was decorated beautifully...and it was very clean!
  • Disliked — You needed a car to get to town.

I booked my stay at the Piney Hill B&B to spend a relaxing weekend after a long week of work meetings and events. I had never been to Luray before and, after having read the wonderful reviews, when I found that they had availability for the weekend I wanted to visit, I jumped at the opportunity. It was everything I had wanted. Not only are the hosts, Hank and Wiley, extremely welcoming, their property is beautiful and inviting. Breakfast was heaven on a plate. Their porch, lovely landscaping and friendly cats make it an ideal place to relax. The bed and linens were very comfortable and sattelite TV is in each room. All in all, aside from uncooperative weather, it was a great weekend and I look forward to returning again soon.

What a great weekend! From the moment we got there, Hank and Wiley were extremely helpful and welcoming! It was our first time at a B&B, and we would definitely return. Breakfast was yummy both days, exceeding expectations on all levels! They were so helpful with directions and recomendations. We hiked out on White Oak Trail, would do it again - beautiful water falls and views, and went to Gadino winery which was also recomended and fantastic! We stayed in the Walter Rogers room, everything from the chocolates to the pecan pie was way more than expected when we got back to the house on Saturday!
We would definitely return!

We had a wonderful experience at Piney Hill. Hank and Wiley were great hosts, from the first phone call when I made the reservation to the moment we pulled away on Sunday. Their home is beautifully decorated, full of collections look at. The food was excellent. Hank and Wiley were full of information about the area; from which restaurants to go to, to where the good hiking is in Shenandoah National Park. We will definitely return, and would recommend Piney Hill to our friends.

My husband and I were looking for a long weekend getaway in the Shenandoah National Park area, and we booked 3 nights in the Mark Ruffner Suite. The experience was so positive and comfortable that we didn't want to leave on Sunday! Just like the other reviewers, we loved the amazing gardens (so many interesting details!) and views, the magazine-cover house, the delicious and hearty breakfasts (e.g., french toasts, fruit compotes, crustless quiches), the chocolate pecan pie "after hike" treat, and our nightly jacuzzi soak. Hank and Wiley were SOOOO attentive and friendly, from their first e-mail after the reservation to our last goodbyes. Their casual and relaxed attitude made us feel so welcome and comfortable, and that, along with their helpful restaurant, hiking and biking recommendations, their pre-arranged bike rentals and the amazing couples massage in the "smoke house", will keep us coming back. We highly recommend Piney Hill Bed & Breakfast, and we can't wait to return!
