My wife and I decided to take a leisurely drive this past weekend and made a reservation at the Mimslyn Inn and what a pleasant experience it was. We had stayed here more then 30 years ago as yound newlyweds so what we thought would be a walk down memory lane turned into a five star experience. We made a reservation for the four course wine dinner which was truly excellent in every way possible....outstanding service, perfect food, incredible wines and a truly memorable occasion. This is a gem of a facility and we would highly recommend.

My husband surprised me with a getaway to Luray for my birthday last weekend. We had the Explorer package and stayed in a 3rd floor suite. We arrived early to pick up our tickets to Luray Caverns and we were able to check in to our room. Our suite was beautiful, we had a fabulous view of the mountains and the gift basket was a nice touch.
We enjoyed the pool in the afternoon - very refreshing! Our room was spacious, very clean, the linens and towels were soft and good quality. Our bed was soft and very comfortable. We didn't hear any noise in the hallway during the night -- we had a great night's sleep! Included in our package was breakfast for 2 at the Circa 31 restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and the buffet was delicious. We would definitely stay here again!

The Mimslyn Inn is beautiful! As you drive up the hill, you know that this is an Inn that caters to their clients. The employees cannot do enough for you. The food is quite good in both restaurants on the property. On Thursday evening in the Speakeasy Restaurant, we enjoyed dinner and listening to Accoustic Thunder. In the Circa 31 Restaurant, we had a wonderful buffett lunch for only $9.95. All in all, I highly recommend the hotel.

P.S. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt stayed here in the 1930's.

Wonderful older hotel that retains elegance and charm, yet rooms offer modern convenience and comfort. Very friendly staff, they truly care about your enjoyment and want to make sure you are comfortable.

On a recent business trip to Luray Virginia, my customer told me to stay at the historic Mimslyn Inn. And I am glad he did. All of the rooms have been updated with high speed internet and flat screen TV's. The beds were comfortable and I stayed for the corporate rate of $70.00! They have a restaurant in the hotels which made it extra convenient (try the roasted duck with a rasberry demiglase!). The Inn still retains all of it's historic charm and elegance. I am planning on bringing my wife back later this year, for a romantic getaway.

My friends and I went to Luray to check out the caverns and booked a room here based on other ratings on trip advisor. When we pulled up to the hotel we all sort of squealed in unison-- it was so cute! It's a beautiful hotel, inside and out. It sits up on a hill and it has a long veranda with big white columns and rocking chairs in the front. I had looked on their website before booking it, but the hotel is actually BETTER in real life.
The staff were all every courteous and helpful. We were offered complimentary lemonade on arrival (which was so nice, given that it was 100 degrees that day).

The hotel underwent a multimillion dollar renovation in 2008. Our bathroom looked very new and even had a whirlpool bath with a little bottle of bath salts from Gilchrist and Soames. Other bonuses-- an electric fireplace in the room and terry cloth robes.
The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the room smelled a little funny-- I think it might be because of the air conditioning unit (?) in any case, I sprayed perfume and we were fine.
In the morning we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant Circa '31 which was lovely. We all ordered omlettes which were really good and only around $8 each. Luray Caverns is only about a mile or so away, straight down the road from the hotel.
