“quiet and peaceful”
Reviewed March 29, 2010

We chose this hotel becuase it had suites with a kitchen and the rate was reasonable. We found that we enjoy eatting our own cooking rather than spending money on food we don't enjoy. The location was execellent, less than 5 mins fives minutes from Luray Caverns, less than 5 mins from Skyline Drive and less than 5 mins away from a Super WalMart (which is always a good thing when traveling).

The hotel was clean, the rooms were up to date including flat panel LCD TV's. The only reason why I did not give it 5-Stars is to provide readers with a 100% honest review.

* One of the bowls was placed in the cupboard without being properly washed, likely had another dish stacked on top of it in the dishwaser and never was completed cleaned and rinsed.

* The bathroom was clean, roomy but while it had clean hand towels and bath towels, they forgot to include wash/face cloths. (no big deal)

*Ceiling Lighting - becuase the rooms have 9ft ceiling, the choice of ceiling lighting could've been better, the room appeared to be dull. They need to spend a little more on the ceiling light fixtures and place a hanging light over the table or at least a wall sconce above it. It will add to the appearence as well as provide better lighting.

Other than these three issues I could not find another thing wrong with our stay. Before we departed, the General Manager asked "How was our stay?' as I was loading the car. This gave me every indication that if there was anything wrong during my stay, had I sought him out, he would've made sure it was taken care of immediately.

The hotel provides a secure and safe environment, has up to date, individual AC/Heat units in each room...

This location is super; it's located between the two mountain ranges, both of which offer excellent views and hiking. The proximity to the quaint town of Luray is also unbeatable; the caverns, the Luray Caverns that is, are located just a stone's throw from the hotel. The rooms were recently renovated, and they include a fridge, a microwave, and an iron/ironing board; I was surprised by all the ammenities this hotel offered! Wireless internet is also included with the price of the room.

We spent the day sightseeing in Shenandoah National Park and the hotel
was less than 10 miles from Skyline Drive. The price was reasonable and we found the employees helpful, they offered a 1st floor room to my elderly parents without us asking, after first putting them on the 2nd floor.Definitely would stay there again.

This hotel had the basics, nothing grand, but good for the price. It was good for family because the rooms included a microwave and refridgerator. Also a continental breakfast was included with the price. The location was pleasant and convenient to the park and luray attractions.

On the way back from Smith Mountain Lake, we decided to stay at the Days Inn Luray. It was a last-minute deal we found while driving back home. Probably wouldn't have thought to stay there otherwise. The room was cleaner than expected - especially for a hotel on the side of a highway. Everything worked with no funky odors or stains - refrigerator, hot tub, shower. It's in the middle of nowhere - unless you are specifically going to Luray Caverns. There is a mini-golf course attached to it - an unusual feature, but not interesting enough to waste time on. Overall, a good value for a quick overnight. Not worth going out of the way to stay there.

This Day's Inn is one of the nicest I've stayed at so far. It is located along a quiet stretch of highway, backing a vast green field (fresh air!). Stayed in R104 for one night and paid $85. Katie at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The mattress was firm (my husband thought it was a bit saggy in the middle), and the shower was hot and nice. We grilled burgers for dinner at picnic area next to the (closed) swimming pool. The free Continental Breakfast was decent - bagels, mini muffins, toast, cereal, milk, instant oats, coffee, tea, apples, oranges. Wifi didn't work with my laptop (maybe because it has MS Vista installed). Luray Caverns are 5 miles away and the Shenandoah Park entrance is 10 miles away.

We had dropped our daughter off in Harrisonburg for college, and did not elect to stay there. Stopped at Luray Caverns about 6:30 in the evening. A great time to go there, no crowds and very peaceful. We stopped at the Days Inn because it was clear there was no place else to go. The desk clerk was friendly and described our room furnishings as "antique", but the furniture and wall coverings were just shabby. There was a live cockroache in the bathroom. No working fan in the bathroom, which is why there is mold on the ceiling, I guess. It looked as thought the furniture had never ever been moved for vacuuming. I slept because I took a sleeping pill.
The continental breakfast was adequate, probably because we arrived soon after opening.
