Hotel was OK. Rooms were also OK. Some stains on the bedding and rug. Beds were very squeaky. Breakfast was OK continental fare, nothing special.

Although it was an older hotel the rooms were very nice. No bugs inside. Very reasonable rate through priceline. Location was near caverns. Staff very nice and very friendly. There were a ton of bugs outside as the hotel is in the middle of the country but nothing inside. Quick trip in to Luray for dinner.

Room Tip: use name your own price on priceline

We had great service from the staff from the moment we walked in the door. We were originally put in an "antique" room, but I wasn't a fan, so they moved us to a regular room with no problems. You can tell that the property is older, but it served it's purposes well for our little trip to Luray. We had no major issues during our stay.

I like this motel for two reasons.. we can take our dogs here and they have alot of room to run around and enjoy themselves.. and when we come without the dogs we get a good room for the money.. they give you a refridgerator, microwave, ironing, coffee maker, tv , plenty of storage space for clothes. a pool that is always in great shape.. they have a set up for breakfast, which includes bagels , pastries, muffins, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea. and they have 24 hours of coffees brewing. I must say this motel is on the top of our list because of the area. a couple of cons would be. , some of the tubs dont have stoppers to take baths. and the toilet seats really need to be replaced. but not a big deal. i would recommend this place also because its clean.. and i have to have a bed that is clean and they change their lines everyday , that i am aware of..

Room Tip: rooms are large and have plenty

This place was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in...even worse than a Motel 6! $75 (military rate) was about $70 too much! We didn't see any bugs, bedbug or otherwise, but the bathroom needed renovation about 20 years ago! Luray was a last-minute decision on our way back from New York so we read the review with a grain of salt. Boy are the reviews right, and I don't know where the people who gave good review stayed; maybe there's one room of all the rest which is not messed up? I've stayed in Days Inns all over the country and they were all decent. Corporate needs to investigate this hell hole and close it down!

Room Tip: The best rooms are somewhere else!!!

Not much was expected out of this property. But I will say I didn't expect to clean the bed/toilet/shower before we could use them. We are just thankful that there was a walmart near that we could get cleaning stuff from.

Please keep in mind when you read this review that it could be a seasonal issue. We were there the last night of June. Here's what happened:

The beetle infestation was faced was horrendous. We arrived late and so they were swarming all around the hotel (it's the only light for miles and they're attracted to it). Had we been on the first floor and could walk just up to our door and enter, that would have been better. But, we were on the second and had to climb the stairs, walk all the way down the hallway and then enter. They were everywhere. Swarms. I was afraid they would fly into my mouth if I opened it as I ran. (Yes, ran to my room). They were in our hair, stuck to our clothes when we got inside.

Then to top it all off, after we killed those, we found over 25 more beetles in the room! Some where there already, others came through a crack below the door. We did our best to seal it, but it didn't help much. Oh, and the 25 doesn't include the already dead ones behind the door and next to the heater. We ended up sleeping with the bathroom light on because we were so freaked out by everything.

I know this sounds a little dramatic, but after a long day of traveling we just wanted to relax. To be honest, it also wasn't the cleanest place, or up to date in any way, but it was priced reasonable, too, so what can you do. It's just those beetles. If you're okay with that, then you're all set, but if you're not, then choose accordingly. I will say that the front desk people were very friendly.
