We celebrated our 47th anniversary with a trip to Sequoia. After checking reviews on Trip Advisor for our local restaurants we chose River View Lounge. The deck overlooks the river; the sun was setting so we had a beautiful early evening waiting for our meal.
The wait persons are extremely young and inexperienced. We asked for a lemonaid and one glass of wine The wine arrived with our order, the lemonade not at all. We finally chose a simple burger and chicken salad. These arrived in a plastic container with small paper napkin. Okay for a quick bite but not anything special if you want to have a nice dinner.

We ate here while on vacation. Not a lot of local options. The riverside deck is very large and the view is gorgeous. The inside is rustic & there seemed to be a lot of locals hanging out. There was also live music. Wish I could say the food was as good as the setting but it is not. Took a long time to get it and it wasn't worth the wait. We did not return.

Went there on hotel's recommendation. Got a table right next to the river, but no wait staff! Waited and waited, finally my husband went to get a wait staff's attention. They seemed totally disorganized and they were rude. No one seems to know who our waiter/waitress should be and didn't want to bother to get anyone. (Everyone was waiting around us as well). We finally got tired of waiting and left.

When you drive up to the River View, it looks like an old Elks Lodge...not too promising. Once you walk into the bar with large pool table, you might think..."uh...maybe not"...but then you see this gorgeous patio right on the rushing river, and you just have to stay. We saw several white water rafters fly by while we were eating, and the food was pretty good (not great, but okay.)

We ate here early in June and I decided to have the rib-eye - big mistake!! It was everything it shouldn't have been - fatty, rubbery and chewy. It seemed like it had been boiled not grilled. When we were there two other customers appeared to send their food back twice and then give up. Didn't seem much point sending mine back. Service wasn't that welcoming either.
