We met some friends at Macaroni Grill for dinner on a Friday night. We were quite surprised that what used to have people waiting in line had no one in line, so we walked up to the Maitre D podium. No one was at the podium, but we saw staff buzzing around, acting very busy with a nearly empty restaurant. It took a surprisingly long time for our party of 7 to be noticed. Finally, a gentleman approached and we were seated.
Our waitress was delightful, making up for the start of our evening. Her name was Lindsey, and she was attentive and friendly and informed us about several options available on the menu we might be interested in. The food was so-so. Lasagne was not recognizable in taste, texture or looks as lasagne. The kid's pizza was good. The fried zucchini appetizer was delicious. All in all, it just was okay. Everything I would expect from a chain restaurant.
