We recently decided to make Sante Fe an overnight "stop" as a last minute
decision. I looked at the reviews and ALL were positive! I decided to give La Fonda a try after seeing it on the web, plus we wanted to be convenient to the Plaza and the property looked interesting. This place was AWESOME ! We really enjoyed the Adobe and Timber Architechure of this place. The room was huge and very quiet. A Very Unique Hotel Experience.Staff were all happy and helpful. Best nights rest all week ! Convenient parking,Great Coffee in the room and we even received a newspaper and Fruit basket in the morning. I cant say enough good about this place and these people. La Fonda Values their employees and it shows. Everyone was super friendly. We even found their Gift Shops to be very reasonable with a great variety of local souvenirs, etc. We are now looking for a reason to go back!

We stayed at La Fonda for 5 nights right after New Years Day this past year and enjoyed our stay very much. Of course, this is THE closest hotel to the Santa Fe plaza - in fact it is right ON a corner of the historic Santa Fe plaza. But location aside, this hotel was perfect in every way. Excellent rooms, roomy with a very comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff, good food (only had breakfast here once - not due to unappealing food, but due to overabundance of fantastic restaurants in Santa Fe), nice ambience, loaded with history. Can be a bit pricey, but well worth it. Check for specials and off-season rates which are comparable to other fine hotels in the city...but, this location cannot be beat.

Great hotel in the heart of the Plaza, walking distance to everything you need. The rooms are very clean but nothing fancy. Typical smaller rooms in older hotels. The service is outstanding and the amenities outside of the rooms are great with the great bar, pastry shop and nice restaurant in the lobby area. Also a wonderful fireplace and sitting area for relaxing after a day of shopping or skiing. Great outdoor heated pool & hottub as well. Great deal and very fair prices. Very convenient attached parking garage. Only $12 per day which is a lot cheaper than most.

Adobe character-filled hotel on Plaza in Santa Fe. Lobby interesting mix of tiles, south-western furniture, boutique shops and the La Plazuela restaurant. Rooms clean and quiet although I got some noise in the morning from the delivery trucks outside my window. A warm and welcoming place to come back to from the snowy March outdoors. Room service included turndown with chocolates and handy bottles of water which were renewed each day - needed in the high altitude dessicating atmosphere.
Wireless internet a little patchy at high use times and bizarrely unaccessable from restaurant but could go to the business centre and plug into network speeds for free in a quiet airconditioned room.
I only explored a little of what the hotel had to offer. Would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Santa Fe.

This historic hotel was beautiful, comfortable and very convenient. The rooms are all different and I checked out a few. The best room, on which we settled, was spacious, had a fire place and a balcony, all for $139 per night, off season. It was easily worth double the price. The hotel is right in the center of downtown and you do not need a car to check the historic core of the city. The service was wonderful, from the front desk, to the concierge, etc. I would definitely return to the La Fonda.

La Fonda is charming - quaint - and quintessentially Santa Fe. This only thing I could possibly say negative about the hotel is that some of the furnishing were a little worn but by the end that is just another part that makes it so unique. However - our room was impeccably clean and I loved that they kept the original tile and bath from the twenties. I have the same deep vintage tub in my vintage condo in Chicago. Additionally the bedding was incredible. The mattresses were so high end we didn't want to leave the room.

Paramount to the amenities and what makes La Fonda so exceptional are its people. From the moment we pulled up in the car and Gabriel took our bags - to our no hassle check in - and the all knowing Nancy the concierge (you know it was an exceptional experience if you can remember everyone's names) everyone truly went out of their way and the treatment of their guests was uniform. Don't change a thing !! We'll be back again very soon.
