This was our first visit to Santa Fe. On the Internet, we discovered Fort Marcy Suites, just four blocks away from the historic Plaza. We got a one-bedroom condo tucked away on a hillside that was fantastic!! We had scheduled two nights and changed it to four becaue of a major winter snowstorm that closed down I-40. We were so happy to be "trapped" in Santa Fe here! King bed, four large rooms, fantastic decor and ideal furniture in Santa Fe style, pleasing art (even a built-in "petroglyph bear" stained glass window in the entrance floyer), well-equipped kitchen, charming kiva fireplace and skylight in the living room, beautiful large bathroom with gorgeous walk-in shower surrounded by premier Santa Fe tile and lovely little patio outside. We've stayed in many condos throughout the U.S. and this was one of the best ever! Within easy walking distance of the Plaza in a lovely residential neighborhood. You'll love the QUIET and privacy, since there are very few units. An indoor pool and hot tub is available for guests behind the main office, but we were so busy in Santa Fe we never took advantage of them. Our off-season rate was unbelievable, but we'll happily pay full-season rate to stay there again. I felt sorry for travelers in some of the historic, pricey hotels we walked through -- I know they didn't have the beautiful appointments and 600 square feet of a private "home" that we did for one-quarter or one-third of the price!! Don't hesitate; you'll love the feeling of walking or driving "home" like a native in Santa Fe.
