“Quiet, clean place close to old town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2009

This is a great location not too far from old town about a 5 min drive. I like a quiet retreat and this fit the bill. The staff are friendly and helpful, a screen was missing from the window so I asked if it could be replace and the next day it was. They have a nice breakfast, well stocked and an evening managers reception with sodas and munchies. This is a good location to use as a base to visit points north such as Bandelier, Taos, and Chimayo. They only have one computer in the lobby for everyone to use to print out boarding passes or look up information. Thanks Shannon for all your help!

The Residence Inn Santa Fe was very nice, and I would really recommend it to families with children or teenagers. My party arrived at 10:00 pm and had to be buzzed into the front area by the reception desk. The gentleman who checked us in was very kind. I thought the room had a cute décor and was very clean (except for the carpet which is always dirty in hotels). Everything was in working order and it was incredibly convenient having a kitchenette.
Breakfast is served each morning, and some nights dinner is provided as well. I thought breakfast was great! There was a large variety of food, and everything was tasty. The pool area was nice and there is a court as well (don’t recall if it was for tennis or basketball). Free Wi-Fi is always great! I would defiantly stay there again!
The location really is awful. It's dark at night and it is a bit of a drive to locate resturants and shops. Also, it can be annoying if you have loud neighbors (which we didn't) as you can hear the upstairs occupants.

April 2009. We had the opportunity to spend several nights at the Residence Inn Santa Fe. The hotel is away from the plaza but a quick drive. It's a bit remote in terms of neighborhood and walking amenities. But it is in a quiet area of Santa Fe. Major roads are nearby. There is plenty of free parking in the parking in the property.
Check-in was very fast and we received a Penthouse room, we King in the loft, and a drop down Queen on the main floor. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was ultra comfortable. Lighting in the room was very good. There was a problem with one closet. The work desk was large and the office-style chair functional and comfortable. Our room had a sofa and a comfortable arm chair.

Two regular TVs had a lot of cable channels as well as a wide selection of pay-per-view movies. I looked at some previews and costs per movie seemed to be between $12 and $15.
The bathroom was clean. Lighting was good, the towels were plentiful, and the shower worked well – immediate hot water with plenty of pressure. Bath amenities include shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.
The free buffet breakfast was good and there were several rooms to dine. There is complimentary internet access with a pc in the lobby. The breakfast buffet featured scrambled eggs, sausage, hot oatmeal, and all the other things you would expect on a breakfast buffet.

The hotel public areas were clean and well-kept, but could use an updating to the style of the rooms.

There are seveal fast food restaurants (McDonalds and Lots Burger) within a few minutes (by auto) of the hotel. We found Santa Fe a bit disappointing, more tourist trap than expected. A Globe Trekker Southwestern episode with host Justine Shapiro had some negative point of of view of Santa Fe as well. There are many Indian Casinos between Albuqurque and Taos, and we would return to play many resonable golf courses connected to the Casinos.

I will stay at the Residence Inn Santa Fe when in the area again. It is quiet and comfortable and a better value when compared to properties near the Plaza in Santa Fe.

I have stayed at many Marriotts over the years, and this place was disappointing. Closet doors would not open, we ened up having the maintance staff just removing one of the doors so we could access the closet. Outside of the place is in need of maintenance. The hot breaksfast is decent but not great. We ended up checking out after one night and moving to a nearby Courtyard. Most surprising was the fact that the checkout person at the front desk never bothered to ask why we were leaving after one night of a three night reserved stay. Guess they didn't care.

We chose the Residence Inn for a long week-end in Santa Fe and side road-trip to Taos. We found yet another squeaky clean and well managed Marriott in a quiet, neighborhood location. The desk staff, Shannon, was excellent helping us with our complicated check-in (our fault). David is an expert on all things Santa Fe. We appreciated the in-room kitchen. the morning breakfast and the internet connection. It can cost a lot more in the Plaza Area for atmosphere and a total Santa Fe experience. We didn't spend much time in the room and were happy to have the car at the door and the highways just around the corner. Like the previous review, be sure to get an upper floor to avoid the foot-thumping from above. We were told that the doubles and kings could be on either floor.

Have never stayed at a Residence Inn, and found this one to be clean and comfortable except for the lack of sound insulation between floors. The 2 queen bed rooms are all downstairs, and the king beds are upstairs; we had no option but to remain downstairs. After 2 nights in one room with an elephant for an upstairs neighbor (sounded like bowling balls were being dropped on the floor at 2 AM) we moved to another room. Better, but still heard our neighbor get up and move about at 5 AM on a Sunday morning. If you can sleep through anything, this is a nice place, and we paid $65/night through Priceline - could not beat the price. But if you are a light sleeper, get a king room upstairs, or else prepare for interrupted sleep.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay here. The location is close to the historic old town Santa Fe, in a peaceful neighborhood, with supermarkets and restaurants a few blocks away. We had a spacious room w/2 beds and pullout sofa and a fully furnished -plates/pots/silverware etc. full size fridge/ microwave/stove/oven- very clean kitchen. Carpet looked newer/clean, but sofabed mattress was not too clean, tv and garbage disposal didn't initially work, bathroom door was somewhat worn out on the bottom, however bathroom was very clean, no grunge. Maintenance came immediately to fix/replace tv, and disposal was fixed after we notified desk the next day. The first day we returned and room had not been made up by almost 2/3 PM. Breakfast was fine-cereals, yogurts, eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, breads/bagels, but muffins/donuts were sticky and flavorless. Free parking right by the room was very convenient. First floor rooms are exposed to the "foot traffic" (sliding doors by the beds open to on-ground faux balcony (standing room only). Pool looked ok, but we did not use it. Front desk helpful and friendly. My husband said the room smelled weird (moldy?) every time we walked in, but I didn't get that impression. So, even w/ a few minor issues, the Residence Inn was a good value and offered us a pleasant stay.
