Las Palomas , at least in our section was organized as a small village made up of casitas. Each one with a living room with kitchennette and the bedrrom and bathroom. Walking distance to the center plaza of Santa fe and its galleries. In addition the breakfasts are varied and delicious. The staff was very helpul , cheerful and corteous.

We occupied a casita that was only 2 blocks from the plaza. It had a little kitchen and a private courtyard where we were able to have wine and snacks with friends. What a difference from a regular hotel room! It was like having our own little house in Santa Fe! The maids and staff were courteous. The room was great. The breakfasts were terrific, and the cappuccino in the evening were delightful.

Room Tip: Ask for a casita to get the most authentic experience.

We booked two rooms in June. The rooms were dark, the bed consisted of an old mattress with a foam cover to make it look new. I slept poorly and awoke with a big spider crawling over my arm and it bit me! They had one 40 watt bulb in the kitchen. I could not see if the coffee package was decaf or regular. It was too dark and dirty. The maids just splash water in the courtyards and make the floor muddy. Do not go to this "Hotel"!

I am distressed to learn that you were so disappointed with your stay and only wish you had mentioned your concerns during your stay, as we would have immediately addressed them. As you can see from other tripadvisor.com comments, our guests generally have a great time. Please give us another chance!

We have stayed here on a couple of other trips to Santa Fe and have been very happy with the hotel. This trip was taken with some friends who were visiting. We were able to get two rooms next to each other. Each room had a very comfortable King bed, ours had a kiva fireplace. The courtyard we shared was beautiful, with rose bushes in full bloom just outside our door. We hung out in the courtyard area, having a cocktail with our friends, and it was just great. The staff here is friendly and attentive and the breakfast is wonderful. It's very quiet yet just a few blocks from the Plaza - an extremely well-located hotel. The wi-fi access was good.

Our friends loved it and we think it contributed to what was a wonderful experience in Santa Fe, their first. We see no reason why we should ever stay anywhere else - this has become "our" Santa Fe hotel.

P.S. I rarely, if ever, give a 5 star rating - that is reserved for something extraordinary! If I could give this one 4 1/2 stars, I would.

Las Palomas is really a bed and breakfast - the staff is great, the coffee (espresso included) and breakfast is extremely good and the hotel is pretty good for dogs (they provided bags, a toy, and treats upon arrival and the fee is only $20). The pictures are not of the Tiendas at Las Palomas (#55 is much smaller and more quaint than the pictures on Expedia and tripadvisor depict and the bed is a little creaky and not fabulous), but we got the least expensive available room. It's clean and cute and walking distance to plaza.

My husband and I have stayed in Santa Fe many times. This time we shared a 2 bedroom suite at Las Palomas-Zona Rosa with friends and we all fell in love with it!
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and fun to be around. The suite was filled with charm!
Cozy, very clean, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice, the kitchen was great and equipped with everything we needed. We walked to the Plaza each day. and then in the evenings we walked across the street to Vanessies and listened to music . The made to order breakfast omelettes were wonderful as were the baked goods and fresh fruit each morning.

We would stay here time and time again.
