“Good choice to spend a few days in Santa Fe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2014

A very nice resort that offers little Apartments very nicely furnished, with a small kitchen equipped with a microwave oven and refrigerator. The resort offers also a small pool and is located at 10 minutes walk from the center of Santa Fe. A nice choice for staying in Santa Fe for a few days.

Spent a week at this place and it was wonderful for several reasons. First of all, the unit was clean, roomy, and stylish. The bed was comfortable with plush pillows and soft bedding. The kitchen was completely stocked with all the conveniences of my own kitchen at home. The staff, especially Robin and Danny from the front desk, are amazing! Those two were so friendly and attentive towards us! The lobby is stunning! I love the pictures, free coffee & tea, and openness of the lobby. The pool and hot tube were well kept and relaxing. We stayed in building two and it's pool and hot tube were secluded in the back which was pretty cool. Lastly, the location is incredible. You are within walking distance to the plaza and De Vargas shopping center. We enjoyed our selves so much here we stayed an extra day!

Room Tip: Try to stay in building two on second or third floor. Get to know Robin and Danny from the from desk...

This lodging was close to the downtown plaza, an easy walk. The desk clerks were very helpful and their shuttle service made things even more convenient. The beds were comfortable and the villa had a great kitchen. The lobby of this lodging was beautiful.

The room I was given smelled smoky, even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told that there were no other rooms available because I booked the room through Expedia. I then asked to be accommodated at another hotel. I was told that, because I booked and prepaid through Expedia, I had to contact Expedia, get a refund from them, and find another hotel on my own.

I found this unacceptable customer service. On the rare instances in the past when I've been given an unacceptable room, the hotel has always done its best to provide good customer service, whether moving me to another unit at the hotel or elsewhere.

At this point I needed to get to bed--I had a long business day the following day. The hotel offered to spray the room with deodorizer and open the windows, which of course provided only very minimal relief. They did offer to run a deionizer for an hour, but I would have had to vacate the room (it takes the oxygen out of the air). Because I had to get to bed, this was not a viable option.

This is not a resort; it is a very large version of a standard suite-type hotel; the only amenities are a pool and exercise room. There is no restaurant, breakfast room, or grocery pantry on the property or nearby. Breakfast is either a 10-minute walk or a drive.

This property is also not in the historic district--the plaza is about a 15-minute walk away.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies; others do not.

We are truly and sincerely sorry that your stay here at Villas De Santa Fe did not meet your expectations. It was very concerning for us to read that your accommodations had a smell of smoke. Our housekeeping team didn’t report any smell of smoke and we also confirmed that the next day with the room attendant. Nevertheless, we’re sorry you encountered this problem in the first place. We assure you that should there have been any availability to transfer you to another room or an upgrade you to a larger suite this would have been arranged for you, however, the resort was experiencing high occupancy rates. The historic area is only 5 blocks from the resort where you would have found several restaurants we’re sure you would have enjoyed. We are, of course; very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment you may have experienced during your stay and should you wish to give you another chance, we would do our best to ensure that you have a great stay. We wish you all the best on your future travels.

Located a couple of blocks from De Vargas shopping center and within walking distance of the Santa Fe main plaza (river walk, the capitol building, Canyon Road art gallery walk, etc), we did not have to start the car up during our whole week there. This was an ideal setting for us.

This is a Diamond Resorts property and, to our surprise, timeshare/vacation ownership high pressure presentations were not something this resort does; our stay was especially pleasant because of this. Instead, the resort staff was pleasant, helpful, courteous, and the facility was small-scale and comfortable.

The attractive light brown buildings were trimmed in the Santa Fe turquoise color so popular here. This vacation property never felt congested and there was plenty of parking. It is popular with travelers from California, Arizona, and Colorado but there were many license plates from Kansas, Louisiana, Florida, and Illinois (other far away states, too).

The property itself consists of a main office and 2 buildings (a small street separates the buildings). The in-ground hydro-spa and 2 barbeques, as well as outdoor tables and chairs, lounge chairs are all located on the enclosed grounds adjacent to the 3-floor building across the street from the office. The in-ground spa is limited to those age 18 and older. To use the barbeques,, a trip through the building's hallway is necessary (kind of inconvenient). Resort staff says this is the only way to access these amenities.

A small pool is adjacent to the main office building. That building houses a pool table in a separate room, a laundry room ($1.50 each wash and dry), a small fitness room, computers in the lobby area, coffee in the morning, and newspaper machine outside by the front door.

The room itself, although on the small-ish side, certainly was adequate and nicely done. Furnishings, artwork, cabinetry, carpeting, window coverings were all higher-end and quite attractive. A comfortable bed and quiet evenings made for a very pleasant week. A little deck off the living room was big enough for the 2 chairs. Thee is an elevator.

The kitchenette has 2 burners (no oven), microwave, toaster, blender, etc. (all was there). Kitchen utensils consisted of a pot and a fry pan. As we were on a long road trip, we packed along a slightly bigger fry pan (just in case) and that made a big difference.

We spoke with another guest who said he exchanged in through Interval International and he was in the building with access to the spa, barbeques, tables and chairs, lounges, etc. Everyone one in that building has mid-week tidy service.

We came in through Platinum Interchange and were assigned a room on one of the 2 (of 4) floors in the other building. These floors (3 and 4) are where the RCI and Platinum Interchange people are housed. An info sheet tells you that both of these floors do not get mid-week tidy service unless they pay an additional $40. The up-side is, no one comes to your room and the down-side is you empty your own trash, and we also washed our own towels as needed. If you need supplies (tissue paper, etc.) the office will give them to you.

A very short walk away, De Vargas shopping center filled all our needs: Albertson's and Sprout's grocery stores, Ross, Subway, Panda Express, Starbucks, loads of restaurants, man interesting shops, and even a Humane Society store (Barkin Boutique) with a wide range of things, including amazing art work by a local artist at greatly reduced prices (he volunteers his art for the "cause").

Late afternoon, head up Bishop's Lodge Road to Artist Road (check it on the map) and locate the Fort Marcy Compound (large condo complex, really large!). Off the road is a wonderful place to hike and walk down the stairs down close to the main plaza. The sunset views are truly amazing! It is a refined walk on paved paths and steps (no hiking through scrub brush) and very popular. It is a city facility.

This area is so very walkable and we could not have been happier with our choice of places to stay. We already made our return reservation for next year. We'll be back! You betcha!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the pool will be quieter. Upper floors minimize the footsteps you'll hear over...

This resorts a great place to stay. The facilities are well kept up, and the 1 bedroom unit we had worked well for the two of us. While it was advertised as only a partial kitchen, it had full size fridge, dishwasher, stove, micro, and full kitchen service. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. Free coffee and tea anytime, and even had cookies and other things a couple of times during our weeks stay. The best part of this resort though is its location. A 5-10 minute walk to Santa Fe plaza through nice streets and areas makes this a great place to stay!

Leaving tomorrow after two night stay with my kids. Used Diamond Resort points. Checkin was quick and painless...Danny was excellent. One bedroom suite on 4th floor. Already had the roll away that I had requested online. Room is lovely and exceptionally clean. Great bathroom. Comfortable bed and pull out couch. Didn't use the kitchen but it had everything you might need. No maid service but there never is daily service at DIamind resorts...which is fine. Excellent air conditioning. Pool was small but clean and adequate. Very nice pool towels. The fitness center has two treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, some weight machines, free weights and floor mats...more than sufficient. Lobby is well appointed. The Villas are close to town. We chose to drive but could have walked or taken the shuttle. Very close to excellent restaurants and a Starbucks. I highly recommend.
