We spent 8 nights at the Villas de Santa Fe...We stayed the first night in a one bedroom in building #1 across for the club house. We found the 1 bedroom to be very roomy and in excellent condition. We then moved to a two bedroom in building 2 for a one week stay thru our timeshare. This also was in excellent condition and had everything we needed to eat breakfast and lunch in the unit. Grocery store is located around the block. The club house was welcoming and the gym equipment was well taken care of. The temperature in the gym could have been cooler. The location of the property is also very convenient to all of Santa Fe. The negatives were the front desk staff...customer service training is needed. The hot tub area at building 2 was in need of a cleaning. The birds had messed all over the lounge chairs and no one seemed to have cared or tried to clean them. If they just cut back the tree limbs that hang over the area the problem could be corrected. They say they offer coffee and juices but the coffee maker was either not working or they did not want to take the time to make the coffee. This went on for atleast the first 5 days of our stay. The elevator is building 2 was not working alot of the time which meant climbing stairs with luggage and groceries. We would stay here again but hope that management can address some of these issues.

My wife and I needed a quick getaway from Denver. Thought we try something new. Plenty of room, clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful even with our late arrival. Aaron and the front desk recommended the perfect spot for a late dinner. We walked to the plaza and dinner everyday. Would stay again.

For those of you forever attached at the hip to the Diamond Resorts timeshares, this is one of their properties and falls below average of the dozen or so others I have stayed at. It is a smaller property and as such also comes with fewer amenities. A small lobby, small workout room, small coffee bar, etc; they can check all the boxes, but nothing very elaborate. They have created a few small walled garden areas that provide grills, chairs, hot tubs and one very small pool, but there is little room to roam on their grounds. But then again why would you? Downtown Santa Fe is just a few minutes walk away with countless shops, restaurants, galleries and museums. But back to the Villas. We stayed in a standard one bedroom unit that says it sleeps four. Technically yes, but with two teenage boys with us, the fold out double bed is a tight squeeze. We would have inflated the air bed we brought along...had there been any available square footage. Alas, the living room/kitchen is not much bigger than the couch when folded out. The drop leaf "kitchen" table could theoretically seat four, if you moved the fourth chair out from the bathroom. Having a single bathroom located in the bedroom was awkward as well, meaning teenagers were required to walk through our room whenever nature called. The double doors separating the bedroom from the living room/kitchen does little to dampen the noise, so with luck everyone in your party will want to go to bed at the same time. Staff has been uniformly friendly and helpful when asked.

It doesn't really qualify as a resort, but as an option for quick access to downtown, it is nice.

Room Tip: For a family of four, the standard one bedroom will be tight.

We booked this reservation on a Groupon with reasonable expectations. After spending two nights at this lovely property, our expectations were exceeded. Because these are technically 'time-share' units, the layout is family friendly with a suite consisting of an efficient fully equipped kitchen, living room with nice/comfortable pull out bed/mattress, separate bedroom with privacy door, patio, dressing/sink area, large closets, and large bathroom. The decorations were well done in Santa Fe style and didn't have the icky/cold feeling of a corporate hotel. There were high-end cotton linens on the bed and extra linens for the queen sized pull-out bed in the living room. Everything was clean and up to my standards. There was a swimming pool and large whirlpool outside our door which was convenient on the one hand, but when you have a room by the pool, you are subject to the ignorance of people partying loudly well after 10 PM with no regard for anyone but themselves. Other than not being able to open the windows and get some sleep until the fools outside decided to call it a night, everything was great! BTW, this property is located right in the heart of downtown Santa Fe and within walking distance of the Plaza where you will find one of the most charming areas in the country. Since parking in the Plaza area is limited, you are better off walking everywhere if you are able. I would definitely stay at Villas de Santa Fe again, just not by the pool.

Room Tip: If you like to sleep with the windows open, which is heavenly in Santa Fe, ask for a room away from the pool so you won't be bothered by people with no class talking and laughing loudly after hours.
