Over the top in service. Daniel the manager made sure we were taken care of. He even sent me to a faboulous hairdresser. The place was perfect for my husband ( who had to be taken to the hospital) and I . They called the paramedics for me and helped me find the hospital after the paramedics took off without me. We were guided by the friendly staff to events, restaurants and bars. They pick you up and take you there if it is within a 3 mile radius. We used it more than twice a day. The weather was very hot in the 90's when we went in the last week of June to Santa Fe.At first we had a one bedroom that did not suit us and we were moved to another unit immediately. The rooms were clean and well appointed. We were on the first floor. The second floor has a balcony off the living area which was nice. There is a game room where we played pool while waiting for our laundry to be finished. The laundry room is righ next to it. They had a business center and the printer was not available when we were there. They have an outdoor pool and jacuzzi . Don't miss the museums and churches. We did not have time in 9 days to see it all and will be back and hope the staff is the same next year.

Santa Fe is a small town, and a lot of it is within a 20 minute walking distance of the hotel. They provide a reliable shuttle on a first-come, first-served basis that will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius. We had rented a car in Albuquerque, dropped it off at Budget in Santa Fe, and the shuttle picked us up and took us to the hotel.

The lobby is nice, and it has an exercise room and a pool table in the same building, both are open 24 hours. The swimming pool is quite small, but decent enough for laps and having fun. A hot tub is next to it, but the fountain or waterfall area wasn't working.

Checkin was efficient, if not warm. We asked for a different room, but they seemed to be fully booked. Our room faced a major traffic st and a gas station (Rm 1311), and in the mornings the noise from the street was quite audible.

Unfortunately, they don't offer free wifi, and boingo doesn't work here. You can use your phone's 3g connection or buy wifi for about $9/day (small discounts for multiple days). There are a couple of terminals in the lobby, with one connected to a printer, that are free to use.

The rooms were generic, but comfortable. I think the hotel is frequented mostly by timeshare owners, so you may or may not get maid service everyday depending on how you booked your room. The kitchen was adequate, the bed was comfortable, the sofa bed was uncomfortable, the TVs had a good number of channels, and the shower was stingy with its water. At first I thought it was part of a city or state wide water conservation thing, but other hotels we stayed at had much better shower pressure.

We stayed at the Villas de Santa Fe in August 2011. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One nice feature of this property is that they will drive you anywhere within a 3 mile radius and pick you up. This was perfect the first night we arrived in a rain storm!

The property is a short walk from the Plaza. The main building (that houses check-in, gym, lobby, laundry and pool table) has coffee, juice, and lemonade available 24/7. The room we had was a suite. The main room had a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, small stove, coffee maker, dishwasher), a pull out sofa, and a kitchen table. The bedroom had a king size bed. There are 2 flat screen TVs, one in each room. The bathroom was large but the sink was located outside the bathroom. Plenty of closet and drawer space for storage. A laundry basket was a nice touch. Everything was clean and well-maintained.

The pool area was small but nice. It could use some umbrellas for shade!

Room Tip: I liked being in building 2 because it was close to the free coffee in the main building!

General
Went to Santa Fe in August for a business meeting at a hotel in old town Santa Fe. Because my family went with me, we decided to stay here since we are Diamond owners. Santa Fe was a little over an hour from Albuquerque airport. Resort was located about ½ mile from old town so within walking distance through back streets. The resort had a shuttle to nearby areas (within 3 miles) but we rented our own car. There were plenty of convenience stores nearby (grocery, drug store, etc.) but you need a car to get to those.

It comprised of 2 buildings that were built in a neighborhood. It did not have a typical resort feel. There was a small outdoor pool at the main building and a hot tub at both buildings. Lobby was nice with 2 computers to use, a small game area with pool table and a workout area. Parking was ample and free. Front desk, maintenance and housekeeping were VERY friendly. Something refreshing but unusual was there was NO timeshare sales pitch at all.

Accommodation
We stayed in a 1-bedroom villa. It was a reasonable size, but not large. Furniture and décor had a southwest motif. Granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathroom. Stone tiled shower and bathroom floor. Room was clean and everything was in working order. Our A/C coil did freeze up one day but maintenance took care of it. Bed was comfortable. We did not have a balcony although ones that did were tiny. Noise was not an issue. Appliances include an apartment-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and cook top but no oven. No washer/dryer in the room—coin operated ones were in the lobby building so not very convenient. Wi-Fi (through AT&T) was reasonably fast and reliable but cost $30 for a week. There was a laptop-size safe.

Summary
Nice place, not fancy but comfortable and friendly staff. Close to old town Santa Fe. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Top floor was definitely quiet.

Thanks so much to everyone who recommended the Villas. The rooms were very comfortable with a full kitchenette, great beds and lovely, helpful staff. From looking at the pictures, we had been worried that we'd find a slightly tired room, but everything was really lovely. School was out, so there was no noise. We were attending a seminar at the El Dorado and were able to walk there in about 10 minutes. Don't miss the Holy Spirit Coffee shop just across from the El Dorado. It's just a hole in the wall, but has delicious cappuccinos!

It's a bit of a stretch to call this a resort, but it is still a good choice when visiting Santa Fe, especially for a stay of several days. A hotel room can get a bit claustrophobic after awhile, and this timeshare-style setup (bedroom, living room, kitchenette) can be much more comfortable, especially if you like eating-in for breakfast. Some reviewers questioned the neighborhood, but it seemed fine to us (mix of modest residential and small business), and an easy walk to the Plaza. Front desk was helpful and the free shuttle is very handy. If you are on the first floor you will hear a lot of entrance doors closing in the morning, so maybe bring some white noise. My only real complaint is I don't understand why they can't give you a choice of king or two doubles when you make a reservation (or at least let you request) -- there is software that will do that (see Marriott). But if that doesn't make much difference to you, I'd certainly recommend this facility.

Room Tip: Ask for something above the first floor.

The Villas are wonderful. The staff is so pleasant and helpful. The unit is clean, quality linens, 2 big flat screen TVs, cooking facilities with Cuisinart appliances, outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. The office is spacious and welcoming. The shuttle to area attractions (which are without end!) is so convenient. We didn't even move the car a couple of days. I would recommend this hotel without a second of hesitation. I want to go back!!
It was a dream vacation.
