Booked through Expedia (even though I called the hotel directly and they wouldn't/couldn't match the Expedia rate) and was upgraded to a "deluxe" room which was a beautiful little room with a fireplace in the interior of the main building. Some rooms do have exterior, motel style doors, but unless that really concerns you I wouldn't let it stop you from booking. The hotel really gives you a feeling of what the old Santa Fe (before it was overrun with tourists) must have been like. It's a quick 2 block walk to the main tourist/shopping/restaurant area. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Bathroom was small, but it was fine for a long weekend. There was a beautiful little courtyard around the very small pool. Ate the wonderful included breakfast buffet each morning sitting outside in the sun-filled courtyard. Service from the front desk to the restaurant to housekeeping was top-notch. Fantastic all-around!
