Just returned from a Labor Day stay at the Four Kachinas Inn. What a treat! My husband and I stayed in the Kachina room and loved it. It's brightly lit with natural light during the day. We enjoyed our own private patio and the common area patio with its bubbling peaceful water fountain. The bed was so comfy with luxury linens. Both the room and bathroom have been meticulously maintained and cleaned. The owner and host, Walt, was very helpful in providing us with information about mountain biking in the area. He is very knowledgeable about Native American crafts and local history...he could be a Santa Fe museum docent. Each morning, Walt provided us with a unique delicious breakfast consisting of a fresh fruit plate (how does he get the melons to be so perfectly ripened?) loaded with berries, pineapple, melons and kiwi; a yummy quiche; and a warm sweet bread (different each day). And of course, we had our choice of yogurts, cereals, juices, and coffee (including the Santa Fe favorite, Pinon Roast coffee).
After stuffing ourselves with breakfast, we walked to the Plaza which is a short walk from the property...maybe 7 to 10 minutes at most. When we grew weary of window shopping, the return to our room was thankfully short. Each afternoon and evening, Walt had cold bottled water, soda, and freshly baked cookies waiting for us in the common casita just off the patio garden.
The Inn grounds are expertly landscaped to provide privacy and comfort. Private parking is provided at no additional cost. We had no difficulty parking our Subaru Outback. However, parking a truck or larger vehicle could be a challenge. Fortunately, parking on the street is possible. We are already planning another trip to Santa Fe and will definitely stay at the Four Kachinas again.
