“Best B & B in Santa Fe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

I have stayed here many times over the years but this most recent visit was the best. The new owners, Sue Jett and Paul Elliott have done an amazing job of making it even more comfortable and the breakfasts are homemade, full breakfasts with fresh fruit, in house baked goods and different every morning. There are also very delicious afternoon snacks. The location is super convenient to shopping and restaurants. Quiet, clean and spacious rooms

Room Tip: # 12 is my favorite! Large, sunny and has its own patio with mountain views.

Our trip to Santa Fe was enhanced quite a bit by the ambiance and service we experienced at El Paradero. Sue, Paul, Paige, and the staff made us feel as though we were staying with a close relative, rather than in an impersonal, albeit nice, hotel environment. The layout and decor fit right in with the spirit of Santa Fe and its rich history. The quality of breakfast (with its warm and personal touches) set us up with just the right touch to go out and experience the sights and sounds of the city. We would definitely recommend a stay at El Paradero as part of one's visit to Santa Fe.

What a wonderful Bed and Breakfast! Great location, very helpful and friendly staff, beautifully decorated rooms and every day a different, wonderful breakfast. Our room was very pleasant and very tastefully decorated in southwest style and colors. The "livingroom" of the inn, with a crackling fire in the fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating and good books and magazines, is a great place to sip a cup of tea or a glass of wine and chat with other guests. The breakfast room - sunny, cheerful, decorated in bright colors and also with a fireplace - was a charming place to begin the day and eat a big, delicious breakfast. Our flight back to LA was canceled due to a snowstorm and we were delighted to be able to stay a fifth night.

We used to stay at El P. years ago when it was owned by Ouida and Tom and it was always excellent. So when we were searching for a place to stay New Year's Eve, we found the Pino suite available and booked it for ourselves and our daughter. Cozy and comfortable, we built a fire after dinner and celebrated the new year. As others have said, it's a wonderful option, especially if you want a private bath (with large claw foot tub!). We did no cooking, but the kitchen looks complete (albeit small). The new owner, Sue is a gem - we will definitely be back...

Room Tip: For parties of more than 2, I think the suites are your only option, and they're great!

We appreciate the review!
Sue is indeed a gem, I married her and I should know!
Actually for parties of more than 2, there are other options, check out rooms 11 and 12.
Looking forward to your return visit.

This is just the most wonderful B & B. It is located just a few blocks from the plaza, so it's a treat to just park the car and walk. The rooms are all decorated and painted with colorful details and the breakfasts are exceptional! There are so many little details that make this a delightful place to stay - we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Santa Fe!

Room Tip: Room 6 was beautifully decorated and had a wood burning fireplace

This time we stayed in the Pino suite, which is not in the main building. It and the Ortiz suite are in a little building 2 lots away. Each has a living room with a wood-burning fireplace and queen sleep sofa, a bedroom w/a queen bed, a pocket kitchen (2 burners, sink, fridge, microwave, dishware) and bathroom. Pino faces a small street. Ortiz is nicer because it faces into a little porch and yard with outdoor table/chairs. The suite was well-heated, and the inn provided a space heater as well, which we didn't need. The bathroom had a good supply of hot water. The pull-out sofa bed was comfortable for 1, but might not be for 2. There was a little street noise, and I could hear creaking floorboards and other muffled noises from the Ortiz suite living room. This time we got to partake of afternoon tea. Each day they provide 3 different homebaked pastries - very tasty!

My husband and I recently stayed a few nights at El Paradero (thanks to another hotel's error) and we could not have been more pleased! EVERYTHING was fantastic! Sue Jett is the most warm and welcoming Innkeeper. The rooms are beautifully decorated and definitely make you feel as if you are in the heart of Santa Fe. The breakfasts are fabulous as are the cooks and Kim, the waitress, all whom make the start of each day wonderful! And the location is fantastic as well...just a short pleasant walk two or three blocks north to the plaza is perfect! We were able to walk to the Farmer's and Artisans markets at the railyard, and to dinner or to meet friends for drinks and didn't have to worry about driving...plus we knew our parking was very secure. Thank you Sue (and Paul) for the very best hospitality! We will definitely be back and are recommending your B&B to all of our friends.

Room Tip: Room 12 has the best views of the Mountains!
