“colorful rooms”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

I chose El Paradero because I thought my daughter (14) would enjoy the vibrant rooms that I saw on their website. It was out first trip with just the two of us in years. She adored our room and the various nooks around the common area . I would find her here and there curled up and reading her book.
The complementary breakfast was elegant and generous and something you would expect to pay 15-20 dollars per person for in a nice restaurant.
The owner was very congenial and the staff were cheerful and accommodating. The furnishings oh very Santa Fe and charming.
Our private bathroom was across the hall which is to be expected in a B&B , however if you want a bathroom in your room I believe there are one or two available that way.

I have stayed at other fine establishments in Santa Fe...but I must say out of all of them El Paradero would be my first choice to return to.

We're very happy you and your daughter enjoyed your stay!
Just want to point out that out of our 15 rooms, 13 have their own bathroom. Rooms #7 and #8 have a separate but private bathroom across the hall.. that's why these rooms are a little less expensive.
We look forward to your return!

We stayed here a few years ago and loved it. Came back recently and were not disappointed. It is still wonderful. The room decor evokes the flavor of the SouthWest and Santa Fe w/o going over the top. The owner and staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfasts are better than expected. And the location is central -- a few minutes walk from the State Capitol Building and only about an 8 minute walk from the historic downtown. Parking is included and that is a plus in this neighborhood. Also included is wifi with decent coverage. The only real downside...is that it is a bit more costly than a comparable hotel. Still...highly recommend it and plan to stay here again.

We're glad you returned to El Paradero and had a wonderful stay!
If you do compare the cost to a comparable hotel.. of course they don't serve a freshly cooked breakfast to order, or have a delicious teatime with pastries etc. made at the Inn, ( all included it the price) we think it's a good deal!
See the next review where they figure they'd spend $15 / $20 in a nice restaurant for a similar breakfast!
We look forward to your return visit!

El Paradero is a great spot for a visit to Santa Fe. One gets the feeling that the owners have thought of most everything to make the guests' stay welcoming and comfy. Quiet locale, crisp cotton sheets, early pot of coffee, interesting guests--my standards for a good B and B. The decor is charming; the common rooms are attractive; the breakfast is good, and requests for special orders taken with graceful agreement. The location is good--away from the hub-bub of the Square in the center of town, but close enough for a nice 10-minute walk. It is also just about 15 minutes to Canyon Road, and a stones throw to the new Railyard area--don't miss the friendly Brewery there, especially if good local beer is of interest. The B and B's history is also interesting, and I loved the idea of staying in a former 1960s commune! I would definitely stay at El Paradero again, and would recommend without reservation.

Room Tip: I liked Room 1, as it was close to coffee pot, but sink is separate from rest of bathroom for those...

If you travel to Santa Fe, El Paradero Bed and Breakfast is the place to stay if you want a special place that you will remember forever. My friend and I just happened to choose El Paradero blind from the AAA Tour Book and online. You can't imagine the joy we felt upon arrival when we realized where fate had delivered us. Sue and Paul have put such care into creating the most delightful and charming inn. They have taken the time to decorate, incorporating the varied cultures of New Mexico into every room. Breakfast was delicious and they even offer afternoon tea! It's just a short walk to the Old Plaza, the Rail Yard district and many restaurants. I can't wait to return to Santa Fe and El Paradero will be where I stay whenever I am there. Don't miss this gem!

Stayed here for two nights, on a cross-country drive. Very nice folks, great atmosphere, great breakfast, comfortable room, reasonable walk to downtown - and, reasonable price. Would certainly stay here again.

This charming B&B was perfect for our family reunion.....the patio was perfect for relaxing and catching up with family. The B&B is a short walk to the plaza and many good restaurants. The breakfast and afternoon tea's were delicious. I would highly recommend this relaxing and beautifully decorated B&B.

Room Tip: Choose a room around the beautiful patio....the decor is charming in South West Style!

I have visited Santa Fe many times since 1993 and chose to stay at El Paradero over the last six trips to this area. I'm glad I discovered this little "gem" within walking distance to the center of town. El Paradero never fails to exceed my expectations for a pleasant and relaxing stay. Its charming ambiance and delicious full breakfasts and tea time treats are just two reasons to experience this special inn. The owners are a delightful couple who truly enjoy ensuring that each guest at their inn has a memorable stay. El Paradero is a "hidden treasure" that shouldn't be overlooked.

Room Tip: Other than the suites, all other rooms are not individually equipped with a TV. However, there is a...
