“Great hospitality”

We stayed 5 nights at the inn. Wayne and the staff were extremely welcoming and we felt at home. Great fruit plate in the morning and the lemonade and iced were great to have in the hot afternoons--along with the cookies, of course. Quiet and comfortable and right in town.

We recently stayed at El Farolito for our honeymoon, and were thrilled with our stay. The casitas are beautifully decorated, clean, cozy and private. Each morning we started our day with a fantastic patio breakfast featuring a quiche or other hot dish, exquisite breads (mango coconut, pumpkin cranberry, fig apple, etc), fresh squeezed orange juice, and a gorgeous fresh fruit plate (other items were available for breakfast; these are just the items we chose). The Innkeeper drew us a map every day to help us find our way, and provided so many wonderful recommendations for places to eat, sights to see, etc.; we showed up with very few plans and had an adventure every day thanks to his input, and the guide books stocked by the B&B. We would return in the afternoon to fresh baked cookies, iced tea and lemonade. The location is ideal--a 5 or 10 minute walk to the Plaza, and 2 mile walk (or drive) to Museum Hill. We hated to leave and will be back!

We spent four nights here during a visit to Santa Fe, and loved everything about the experience. The room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Architecture is lovely, and decorating is done with a deft touch. The only odd note about our room was that the sink counter in the bathroom was unusually high, which is awkward for a vertically challenged person.

Breakfasts include a hot entree, usually a quiche of some sort. The chef was very happy to make some scrambled eggs with asparagus, etc. for my vegetarian wife on the morning when the entree was not vegetarian. Delicious fresh breads/cakes are available, as well as fruit plates. And the usual array of cereals, etc.

The inn is very conveniently located, both for walking and driving. Everything in the historic district is within easy walking distance, and the inn is just a few feet off Paseo De Peralta, the loop road around the historic district.

This inn is highly recommended.

As someone who travels (heavily) for work, usually landing in upscale, full service hotels, this was a delightful respite from my hectic world. Thank goodness I found this quiet little island in bustling Santa Fe.

The room: Perfect. Quiet, comfortable, well appointed. Clean to the enth degree (big plus, in my book).

The staff: Couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. Felt like a treasured guest, not a paying customer.

Security: As a woman traveling alone, I was particularly impressed by the gated community aspect. The code-protected gate closes at 7:00 p.m. each night; each guest is given two access codes---one for the pedestrian gate, one for the drive-through gate.

Food: Simple, yet dead-on delicious. Each morning, had a hot entree item, a couple of lovely homemade breads/coffee cakes, fresh fruit plates that were lovely and abundant, yogurts, cereals, juices, teas, coffees, etc. Pretty patio for those of us who prefer outdoor dining.

Location: Easy walking distance from the plaza (7 minutes for most, I would imagine). Meant not having to battle the crazy, expensive parking issues that come with visiting old town Santa Fe.

I can't imagine staying anywhere else...but hesitated to write a glowing review, since it might make booking more difficult next time, when rooms fill up!

El Farolito is a sanctuary in lovely Santa Fe. The location is fantastic. We walked to dinner every night, and walked to the museums, art galleries, and shopping during the day. Wayne was a great host and served wonderful breakfasts each morning, varying the main dish which were all interesting and tasty. He gave us superb dining recommendations and we ate well all 3 days/nights. Wayne also made recommendations as to sights and activities to see in and around Santa Fe and Taos, all of which were excellent.

The accommodations were large and comfortable and had a lot of character. I personally appreciated each piece of art that was lovingly selected by the owners. The outdoor spaces were beautifully landscaped and idyllic. I especially loved the artwork in the main breakfast room.

El Farolito has become my favorite B&B to date!

It's located far enough away from the "square" so you don't get some peace and quiet. But it is easy to walk over to the main area for shopping or dining.

The expanded breakfast was nice. Fruit plate and usually a hot selection as well as homemade bread, coffee, juice, etc. Very nice eating area. Owner and assistants are knowledgeable about the area as one would expect.

Internet access was reliable.

It's located on a one way street and has it's own private parking lot. They have a security gate which gets closed in the evening. It has a keypad for access.

We stayed in the Galisteo room, which is right on the street side. It was fine. Clean, comfortable.It had it's own patio are and table/chairs with awning. King sized bed and a remote control for the a/c unit which worked fine. Noise was not an issue save for the room next door opening and closing their doors with no consideration given to the fact that others may be staying next to them. Don't you just love people like that. All the other rooms were back farther.

The refrigerator is just large enough for some drinks and that is it. It is very shallow. So don't expect to put a standard 9x9 take home box from the restaurant in it.

Easy to walk just about anywhere in the square area as well as Canyon Rd, which has a lot of art galleries. If you only have one or two days, you will not be able to see all the galleries. There are a lot. And most of them close at 5. Just remember you are at a higher altitude here and even moderate walks uphill can get you winded if you are not used to it.

Parking around town is paid at meters. They check until 6 except for Sundays and Holidays. They take coins or cash cards.

We would definitely stay here again. The location is just about perfect.

Restaurants in the area can be pricey. Figure $100+ for two. But there are less costly places that the locals go to, so just ask. Blue Corn Cafe and Del Charro are two of them.

El Farolito is just the absolute best place to stay in Santa Fe. This was my third visit and I have never been disappointed. The rooms are both beautiful and comfortable. El Farolito is not only quiet and beautiful it is also close to the square. Wayne is a superb host, so helpful and a fountain of knowledge. The food is so good! Make sure you try the homemade granola.
