IN a gorgeous adobe building in a beautiful garden in the middle of Santa Fe lies the GO Museum. A bit pricey to get in, but the collection is outstanding. Go first thing in the morning before everyone gets up to avoid a wait or crowds.

You have a surprising number of museum choices in Santa Fe. This museum should be at the top of your list.

I found the range of art work displayed in this museum to be very impressive. It allowed you to see her progression from charcoal drawings and water colors to painting in oil. The museum’s collection has a good representation of her varied styles including clay pots and sculptures. The museum’s collection traces her shift from architectural structures to organic and natural forms , from New York to New Mexico. I appreciated the opportunity to take photos of most of the artist’s works.

If you are a frequent visitor to museums you will appreciate this museum’s single focus on one artist and it’s display of some of her most famous works. I think the size of the collection is impressive and is comparable to the Picasso Museum in Barcelona and most other single artist focused museums.

We visited this area mainly to experience the world which inspired Miss O’Keefe
First visited her studio and home in Abiquiú- which was a great prelude to visiting the museum.
Our schedule didn’t have time for a visit to Ghost Ranch.
However, whether taken solely or a visit to each, the museum is a gem of her work, especially the very early work which isn’t tylucally exhibited in a travel show.

The Georgia O’Keefe Museum is now a personal favorite museum of mine. The paintings are not only beautiful but wonderfully displayed. Insightful photos lend an added dimension to the works of art. You get a real feel for this wonderful artist and her life. The museum may look small to some but it was perfect for me. The curators should be especially proud of Geogia’s work and theirs also. Highly recommend.

This is a fabulous museum dedicated to the work of Georgia Okeeffe. It houses the largest collection of her work and tells her life story. Be sure to watch the film. The docents are very knowledgeable. Try to get on a tour.

It is a small museum with some of Georgia´s work and a lot of info about her life. It was a positive surprive for me
Wish I had had time to visit the place in New Mexico where she lived - sounds amazing.
Nice gift store

It will only take you about an hour to get through the museum including the video, but it’s worth a visit. The beautiful artwork is enhanced by helpful information about Georgia O’Keefe’s life at the time that she created those works. Any easy walk from all the sites and a good addition to your Santa Fe visit.
