“Nice lunch in kitschy but friendly surroundings”
Reviewed December 19, 2011

When The Pink Adobe is not open for lunch, their Dragon Room is likely to be. That's how we ended up across the alley on a busy Thanksgiving week in Santa Fe. The place was jammed at 1:30, but they cheerfully squeezed us into our own deuce table. The decor is not as over-the-top as guidebooks suggest, but it is theatrical. The chatty "regular" ladies at the next table sent over their uneaten taco-chip appetizer when we asked them for ordering suggestions. (The waiter himself moved it over.) We had a fine Southwestern lunch at a fair price, with good Margaritas. The food was freshly prepared and tasty. Note that this is not a "night life" review, it's about daytime dining.

“An experience of historic New Mexico!”
Reviewed February 23, 2009

The Dragon Room Bar was recommended to us by the staff at the affiliated Pink Adobe Restaurant during a day of sightseeing that included historic spots and the state capitol building, among other places. After a wonderful lunch experience we headed next door to the unique and friendly bar. We were there during the day so most of the other patrons were legislative staff and business people at that time. The bar was lively but not noisy and we loved the decor. The bartender was courteous but not knowledgable about the different offerings of tequila (my husband wanted to try something new in the high end category). We did try to go back another night at about 9:45pm and they were already closed, which seems to be par for the course in Santa Fe!
