“Great Casita”

The room was amazing. Two queens in one bedroom, a seperate bedroom with a king and spacious living room. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. My familiy loved it. The bedrooms were large. It really did feel like a casita. After a long drive from Phoenix we sunk into the beds and fell right to sleep. Breakfast was good, but not at same level as accomodations. It is about 10 miles outside downtown Santa Fe and a little longer from I25 than we were expecting. For large families this hotel is highly recommended.

This inn is about 12 miles north of Santa Fe Plaza. We were very satisfied with our overnight stay. The motel is new and very attractive. It is located in the parking lot of Buffalo Thunder Resort and is a very easy walk to the casino. The motel suite that we had included a small kitchenette, sitting area, separate bath and bedroom. Very nice accommodations. Breakfast was included with the room and it was better than most. The only downside was the staff was having trouble keeping up with the food demand. They also include a dinner with the room. We did not eat the dinner but noted that there was a menu in our room showing what is served every evening during the month. They also provide a grocery shopping service if you intend to prepare meals in your room, and there is an outdoor pool. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Room Tip: Ask for a second or third floor room.

Stayed in 2 bedroom in main building on 3rd floor,was a little concerned as we were next to elevator, however, the noise was very minimal and didn't bother us at night at all. Food - breakfast and dinner during the week, tasted yummy and was a nice variety, and a great way to save money and time...nice to have a hot meal without leaving the hotel. Breakfast/Dinner room was beautiful and very comfortable, with lovely fireplace.Staff was always friendly. Close to Santa Fe downtown and also Los Alamos. Would return again for sure.

Room Tip: Rooms in main building have elevator, rooms in Casitas are away from main building but only a short...

The Homewood Suites Buffalo Thunder is about 15 minutes north of Santa Fe, so if you want to be right in town, this wouldn't be the place for you. But it's a great value and a very nice place. We were most impressed with the room, the service at check-in and the overall property. It's very well kept up and everything was in great condition. We decided to stay there because it was much cheaper than the nice hotels in Santa Fe and we were spending the day in the Valles Caldera. We'd highly recommend it to anyone. We drove into town for dinner and weren't bothered a bit by the 15 minute drive (and kept patting ourselves on the back for saving so much money, while still staying at an excellent hotel). The Hilton with the casino is right next door, so if you're into gambling, this would be an ideal location for that.

From check in to check out, the staff was great. Our suite was roomy, the bed comfy and we had no complaints. The suite had a nice kitchenette which would be great for an extended stay. We weren't there for the nights that they serve dinners but what a great idea and perk. The breakfast seating area was roomy. The only suggestion I have for breakfast would be to have the plates and utensils away from the waffles area as thatarea is too congested with people waiting for waffles.
I like that there is a small "store" in the lobby and we took advantage of it for snacks. We would stay here again.

Stayed here for a quick getaway. The location was convenient to the places we wanted to visit. The hotel staff was pleasant and very helpful. The mini-kitchen with a full sized refrigerator was a real plus. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in a large, 1 bedroom casita for 6 nights and got a very good extended stay rate. The casita had a kitchenette with a full fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove top. There were adequate dishes and kitchen equipment that enable you to prepare a full meal if desired. The only item missing was wine glasses but we borrowed those from the reception area. There is also a barbeque available for guest use.

The casita and hotel in general were very clean and well maintained. The building and area was very quiet. It was a quick walk from the casita to the main building. There were many breakfast choices that were of better quality than a typical continental breakfast. An evening meal was also offered Monday-Thursday evenings with the menu posted in your room. Wine & beer was included in this free offering. Alastair and Lawrence were two of the employees that I met in the dining area and they were very attentive. They did an excellent job in keeping the food replenished and the area clean. I spoke to the manager, Lisa Vigil, to let her know how impressed I was with the hotel and employees. I mentioned that I didn't eat some of the meat items on the evening menu and she personally arranged to have chicken and fish available for me the next evening. Now that's personal service! Every staff person we met was friendly and helpful, especially Ruby at the front desk.

The hotel is located an easy 15 minute drive on a 4 lane highway to Santa Fe. We preferred the rural location and it offered easy access for day trips to Taos, Jemez and Los Alamos. There are a few restaurants within a 5 mile distance. We only ate at Gabriel's, less than a mile south, and had a very good experience. The casino is a 5 minute walk across the parking lot. We only went there one evening because we found it very smoky with poor ventilation. The hotel is dog friendly with a $75 fee per stay. This is expensive but for an extended stay it was good value. There were many places to walk our dog. We highly recommend Homewood Suites Santa Fe.
