Owner description: Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

The first retail hot tub I ever experienced, in the 80's, has raised the bar, with private saunas, couples massages, salt scrubs & cryo facials. Earthy, natural, sublime in my book..but not if you're snobby or uptight!

While the guys are watching football, head to 10,000 Waves and either get a private tub or enjoy the women's tub. You can get a pass to the women's tub for about $25 and it is unlimited time. Soak in the hot tub, sun on the deck (even when it is cold!), warm up in the sauna, then take a cold plunge. All you need to take is a credit card and hair brush (bathing suits optional). They provide all the rest. Oh, maybe a book to read while sunning.

It is located out of town and was difficult to find. The products are expensive and over-rated. It wasn't worth the time to drive to it.

This is one special place! The treatments are unique and amazing. The setting is so tranquil and rejuvenating. Loved the outdoor private mineral bath. I felt like I was in another country. This is a destination not to be missed and would have been very romantic had I been with my spouse!
