Fine tasting food, partnered with a quiet room in which to have a pleasant dinner. The Potato/Leek soup was amazing, as were the appetizers and vegetable paella! Wait staff were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Everything about this place was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving a taste of real Spanish cuisine.

We ate early and stayed for the jazz performance on 20 June 2014. The hostess (general manager) was gracious and accommodating, the food was wonderful and the music was "jazzy". All was great and it was an exceptionally enjoyable evening. I look forward to a repeat performance on our next visit to Santa Fe.

This really was a treat. We decided that we would dine strictly on tapas and every single item that we tried was amazing. We started with a plate of olives and pan rustico (bread rubbed with tomato and garlic then grilled). We then grilled red and yellow peppers topped with goat cheese - mmm. Even though the Iberian ham was $25 for 3-4 oz we decided to give it a try. It was very tasty but the price is a little outrageous. We had fried oysters, fried in a very light and delicate batter - very good. We also tried a spiced pork tenderloin which was tender and delicious. As I said, everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our meal was complemented by a tempranillo suggested by our server. I hope we can come back again.

El Meson serves wonderful, authentic spanish tapas and entrees. The Chef/Owner, David, is always there, cooking and checking to see that everything runs smoothly.
The food is served in a timely manner by gracious, well trained waiters. We have eaten here many times, and have never had any dish we did not like. The food is fresh and a the Iberico Ham from Spain is a rare treat.
The music in the bar is always good flamenco or jazz, performed by the best local musicians. You can barely hear it in the dining room, which makes for a nice background atmosphere. What a treat it is to dine here!

Great tapas at a good price for Santa Fe. We went as a couple, shared tapas and sangria. All was good. Could have used some more spices for flavor. Loved the goat cheese salad, fried artichoke hearts, oyster mushrooms with garlic, lamb kabob and you must try the goat cheese cheesecake for desert. We sat in the dining room, the bar side was too casual. Must make reservations.
