The restaurant is located in La Fonda, which is a beautiful, historic hotel on the plaza in
Santa Fe. It appears to be very expensive, but when compared to other restaurnants in downtown Santa Fe it is quite reasonable. Even though they were very busy and we had to wait for a table the service was impeccable and the food was excellent - well worth the wait.

We were a group of 12 for dinner. Due to the table arrangements, they were unable to seat us as one group, splitting us up to two tables. Because it is difficult to have discussions when with a large group, the arrangement worked out very well.
My wife and I split a fajita which was still too much to eat, even though it was delicious. The guacamole was excellent as well, made at the table in the traditional way. It was a very nice evening.

Decor is beautiful - best place to begin your Santa Fe adventure. Believe it or not, it's not that $$! They make guacamole table-side that is out of this world. The margaritas are top notch. And, the prime rib is decadence on a plate. The staff is superb and the fountain / trees in the middle of the restaurant set a beautiful tone. We went back a second time in three days. Decor / Food / Service - they have it all @ La Plazuela.

Went here our first night in Santa Fe. The bar was hopping with a good band and we were hoping to sit in this area. Had a REALLY good margarita. It became apparent that we were not going to be able to grab a table. It was crowded and seemed like even waiting for someone to leave wasn't going to work. Locals gave their tables to locals. We decided to move to the dining room and were seated fairly quickly. It was very nice. However, we ordered what we thought were the same drinks and they were not nearly as good. Weird??? Our food was EXCELLENT!!! We had guacamole made table side and all of our entrees were incredible! A LOT of food!!! Our waitress was NOT overly friendly, kind of seemed like she didn't want to be there.....While we LOVED the food and our first drink....we felt like it was really not that tourist friendly, Other places we visited were the complete opposite....so maybe this is the local place to see and be seen and outsiders aren't really welcome? Might have just been our experience. (6 of us felt the same way). great food....you decide.

I stopped into the LaFonda Hotel searching for a breakfast spot and took a chance on the atrium restaurant. This is usually not a great idea. I had the most wonderful breakfast and some of the best service I have had in many years. The fruit and yogurt plate was huge with very fresh melon slices, strawberries, and chunks of pecan sprinkled over the yogurt. I didn't expect a beautiful cinnamon roll as part of the deal. The prices were reasonable and the experience will not be forgotten.
