Description: Tecolote Cafe was started in 1980 by Bill and Alice Jennison with a desire to feed guests great meals, affordably, with superior service. Mr. Bill and Alice's recipes have been pleasing palettes for 31 years. In May of 2010, sadly, we lost Mr. Bill after a long and accomplished life. Since August 2010, Katherine Adkins (Bill and Alice's daughter) and her husband Matt Adkins have been doing their best to honor Mr. Bill and Ms. Alice's vision in carrying on the family business. Sadly we also lost Ms.Alice in December of 2012. We offer a varied menu focusing primarily on New Mexican breakfast and lunch cuisine, as well as some American favorites. We bake all of our breads in house as well as our muffins and biscuits contained in our bakery basket. A little known secret to our great burgers? Fresh baked Kaiser rolls to vehicle our superb patties and ingredients. Whether you come for breakfast or lunch, we are sure you will be pleased with our delectable choices and our warm, friendly atmosphere. If you aren't, just let us know so we can make your experience everything you hoped for!Katie and I can't wait to see you on your next visit. So, come on in, and remember, we serve "Great breakfast, No toast!", just for you.

The Huevos Rancheros are perfection. The Honey-Blue Cornbread French Toast is to die for (get it with hot fruit sauce). And the staff couldn't be nicer, even on a busy weekend. I dream of being in Santa Fe and going to Tecolote Cafe.

My husband and I have been eating at the Tecalote cafe since our first visit to Santa Fe 17 years ago, and we have never been dissappointed. It's definately not a tourist type place, nothing fancy, but you will see people from all walks of life and econmic classes eating there. We were introduced to it by a friend who had family in the city. We are usually in the city once a year for business, and try to get there at least once a year for pleasure. We plan our trips around making time to stop in for breakfast. Everyting we've ever had has been wonderful. The breads are wonderful and as a previous poster mentioned the huevos yucatecos are great. But be warned, they are very spicy. And on top of great food, the service is always wonderful as well. Don't miss it.

Don't miss this gem. The food is delicious. Try the orange poppy seed fench toast and the huevos yucatecos.

We intended to eat Sunday morning breakfast at Cafe Pascual, but decided to try this locals-looking place instead. A short wait for a table was rewarded by a great morning meal. I ordered the blue corn pine nut pancakes, totally fabulous. But be warned these hotcakes are HUGE. I ordered two and could've been happy with just one. They are served with a compote of fluffy butter, hot syrup and are larger across than the plate!

My husband reported the coffee was excellent, my hot chocolate was good, but not quite hot enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Tecolote Cafe. It's for breakfast and lunch only, the sign outside said open until 2pm.
