Description: Tecolote Cafe was started in 1980 by Bill and Alice Jennison with a desire to feed guests great meals, affordably, with superior service. Mr. Bill and Alice's recipes have been pleasing palettes for 31 years. In May of 2010, sadly, we lost Mr. Bill after a long and accomplished life. Since August 2010, Katherine Adkins (Bill and Alice's daughter) and her husband Matt Adkins have been doing their best to honor Mr. Bill and Ms. Alice's vision in carrying on the family business. Sadly we also lost Ms.Alice in December of 2012. We offer a varied menu focusing primarily on New Mexican breakfast and lunch cuisine, as well as some American favorites. We bake all of our breads in house as well as our muffins and biscuits contained in our bakery basket. A little known secret to our great burgers? Fresh baked Kaiser rolls to vehicle our superb patties and ingredients. Whether you come for breakfast or lunch, we are sure you will be pleased with our delectable choices and our warm, friendly atmosphere. If you aren't, just let us know so we can make your experience everything you hoped for!Katie and I can't wait to see you on your next visit. So, come on in, and remember, we serve "Great breakfast, No toast!", just for you.

“Pretty darn good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

Very polite and attentive wait staff. Usually a wait, so earlier is better. I really liked their Huevos Rancheros and they have plate sized fluffy pancakes. Nifty thin sliced potatoes, a little greasy and undercooked but it was very busy so I get it. Not keen on being charged gratuity for a family of 5, just the principle I guess, since as a rule, I enjoy giving a generous tip, especially to the cool staff here.

“blue corn french toast is not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

Back in Santa Fe after many years away. Tecolote was always one of our favorite places for breakfast, and it still is. The blue corn French toast was amazing, and not an item I've seen anywhere else. It has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and servers don't rush you even when others are waiting. Convenient location on upper Cerillos. Don't miss this restaurant for breakfast!

“Hang with the locals!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

Stopped by for breakfast with family on Christmas Eve. This place is popular and very humble. The service was great and the dining area clean. Service was quick and delicious.
Portions are good size.
This is a great alternative to the oh so expensive restaurants you will encounter downtown.

“Stand-In-Line Busy, Wonderful Pancakes, Nasty Bathrooms!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013

I hate to do this to a restaurant that has quite good food and a loyal clientele. Tecolote Cafe has been around forever and the raves about the food is on-going and deserved. But I do judge a place by its restrooms which were truly nasty. Not quite sure why guys simply cannot hit the toilet or throw the paper towels into the trash. It makes me wonder "what is the kitchen like"?

“Amazing NM Lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

Stopped in on a motorcycle ride with a buddy. We had a great lunch! It was real New Mexican food, far better than the Tex Mex crap we have where we live. The red sauce was not too spicy and very flavorful.
Great service!
Great muffins and biscuits!
I will go back next time I'm in Santa Fe!
