I know you may not like the idea of going to dinner at 6pm because that is what retired folks do, but it is well worth braving a few walkers and rascals to get a seat in this hidden local gem with incredible home-style NM cuisine. La Choza is the place where people in Santa Fe go for a great casual meal without the tourist buzz of the square. It is a cozy, brightly painted restaurant in an adobe house near the Railyard with friendly staff and good off street parking. The menu is varied, but not overwhelming, and everything is good. If you are a vegetarian like my husband and me you will be pleased to see the green chile, posole and tamales can all be made meat free! The margaritas are also excellent.
