Description: TerraCotta Wine Bistro is a smart casual food and wine restaurant located in the historic district of downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, in a charming 19th century adobe building near the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. Our unique Santa Fe restaurant features globally -inspired food, wine and beer, utilizing local and regional foods. At TerraCotta Wine Bistro we pride ourselves on using high quality ingredients, in creative combinations that change seasonally. The ambiance is inviting, informal, up-beat, and just plain fun, great for intimate or large gatherings. Best of all, we are moderately priced. TerraCotta's Happy Hour continues all day long, with a large selection of wines by the glass for $6 until 6:00 PM. TerraCotta has the largest selection of wines by the glass in Santa Fe. Our varied menu features sharing plates, salads, paninis, Chef's entrees, and of course yummy desserts. In addition, we offer a $ 30 3 course Prix Fixe menu that changes with Chef's Catherine inspiration.

“Great Place for a Large Group”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

I have reviewed Terra Cotta before and have always had positive things to say. I am reviewing again to recommend this bistro for larger parties. We had a group of 18 and were seated in a comfortable private dining room. The food was good as always and the service was better than to be expected with this size group. Give it a try if you have a larger group.

“A Wonderful New Addition”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Terra Cotta is a wonderful, and much needed, addition to our local restaurant scene. Its healthy, varied menu is well-priced and a very good value. The house salad was far better than most with that label and my salmon was top-notch, fresh and perfectly prepared. $18??!!! In Santa Fe??!! We have a dirty of medium priced restaurants with upscale healthy food. I'm so glad we have another option. The wine list is excellent and rather extensive for such a small place. There is no bar, which I prefer, but that's OK.
The only downside is that parking can be an issue. You might have to walk a block or two, but so what? For this food at these prices, it's well worth it!

“A little gem in Santa Fe”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

A fairly new restaurant with a French influence, whose owners are well known in the Santa Fe food world. It has a cozy ambience and is not too noisy, and offers a good and fairly priced food and wine selection.
We received very good service, which included an offer to taste a couple of wines I was unsure of , and a warm welcome when we arrived as well as a warm send off into a cold, cold night.
Weather permitting, Terra Cotta is a comfortable walk to the Plaza and just a skip away from the O'Keefe museum.
After dining at two of the top SF restaurants the preceding evenings, I can honestly say that Terra Cotta can hold its own in ambience and overall satisfaction.

“Excellent Service, Delicious Food”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

We discovered Terra Cotta Wine Bistro last summer where they accommodated my partner, myself and our Frenchie for lunch on the front porch. We returned recently for dinner on our wedding weekend in Santa Fe. Dining here is like coming over to family or good friends' house! The owners and our server remembered us and asked about our dog (who was back at the hotel). When we told them we would be married in two days on our 20th anniversary, the party began! Terra Cotta has a cozy atmosphere, and we enjoyed a two-top near the bar where we noticed singles eating and in conversation with owners and staff. It is impressive to us when owners mingle with the crowd and are making sure everything is running smoothly, as it was. Our server was knowledgable about wines and gave us tastes when we weren't sure what we wanted. Katherine, the chef, came out to congratulate us and told us about the menu and how the specials were prepared with fresh locally grown ingredients. She even altered a dish at my partner's request. All in all, the food was delicioso, the wine list and prices incredible, and we now have a new family of friends in Santa Fe!

“High Hopes Dashed”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

Our party of four consisted of a 20-year Santa Fe native, her 18-year-old daughter and my wife and I who recently moved to Santa Fe from the East Coast. Three of us in the party are avid foodies with wide- ranging restaurant business experience. We chose Terra Cotta for a Friday night dinner after seeing an ad for the restaurant in a local entertainment guide. We were attracted by its interesting menu and relatively reasonable price point. It is in a neighborhood with several notable restaurants.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by one of the owners who acknowledged our reservation and seated us at a nice table in the front room. I made eye contact with woman who was to be be our waiter who did not acknowledge our arrival with a smile or even a nod. Throughout the meal, she was slow, inattentive and appeared depressed. She might well have been a neighbor filling in for the regular waiter.

Following a really good mixed bruschetta appetizer, and after having to hail the waiter to say we were ready to order our main courses, the entrees arrived. The bouillabaisse special at $28 was overpriced for the scant selection of seafood. The saffron broth had not a hint of saffron. We had to ask for bread to accompany the dish. The other entrees were unexceptional. For example, the braised beef ribs were heaped with sauce to hide the skimpy portion of ribs. The glass of wine ordered to accompany the ribs sat on the bar until I rose to fetch it myself.

After the main course, One of my companions hailed the waiter to ask if she could get some tea. The waiter said, "Sure" and brought her tea without asking the others if they might want want tea or coffee themselves. We had to ask for our water glasses to be filled.

When we departed after dropping $200, no one was at the front door to say thank you, goodbye or come again. The same was true for another group that left at the same time. It is no wonder that restaurants come and go with frequency in Santa Fe, with only the select few being able to go the distance and stay in business year round. With so many restaurants to choose from, why would we ever return to Terra Cotta?
