Description: Serving upscale, down home comfort food, the Zia Diner, a Santa Fe restaurant located at 326 S. Guadalupe St. and in business since 1986, serves updated renditions of diner classics - think Green Chile-Pinon Meatloaf - along with an eclectic menu of southwestern and international comfort food. This high-energy restaurant and bar prides itself on its professional and friendly service and exceptional food. The Zia uses grass-fed, additive-free beef, free-range and additive-free chicken and eggs, and local, organic, fair-trade Agapao Coffee. Their bread is delivered daily from Fano Bakery in Albuquerque. All of our pies, cakes, cookies and pastries are baked from scratch daily in the Zia kitchen. When you're thinking of Santa Fe restaurants to eat at, think of Zia Diner, then come on down and eat with us. "See ya at the Zia!"

Fusion menu. Tex Mex, southwest, burgers, meatloaf, soups and salads. We were shocked by how huge our plates of fajitas were- mounds! (served with gluten free blue corn tortillas by request) Two could have shared. Service was so-so, but we have found this throughout our Santa Fe dining experiences. (One great exception so far is Tabla just off the plaza. Lots of attention!) Zia Diner is located within walking distance from the downtown plaza. Part of a great visit to Santa Fe IS the walking for us. Zia has a nice little bakery with some gluten free selections. Reservations taken for a party of 6 or greater. Our party of four took our chances on a Saturday night at 6:30 pm with no wait. Good shopping location. Makes it worth the trek over.

This was a nice surprise. You won't know it has this great patio, or it's as big as it is until you go in. You'll like it. There for breakfast, great farm eggs, applewood (uncured) bacon...all fresh and prepared very well. Awesome hash browns. Friendly service, quiet unless its busy with kids at breakfast. I think we will be back for happy hour and dinner. Great menu, and if its as good as breakfast was, we will be here a lot.

While they don't have a menu full of vegan entrees, they are more vegan friendly than most diners I've come across. I had the gazpacho soup and the hummus plate. The gazpacho was one of the best I've had, the hummus itself was good, but nothing else on the plate appealed to me, so it wasn't a very good value. I would go back, there were a couple other interesting menu items I'd like to try. The service, from host to server, was fantastic.

We eat here pretty regularly when in town, but this last time - early August 2013 - the food was average at best. Our daughter ordered a hamburger that was burned beyond recognition (that cannot be healthy), and my enchaladas were very ordinary. That has not been the case in the past, as everything has ususally been quite good, but this past visit, of the four places we ate, Zia was way at the bottom of the list.

After four days in Santa Fe, I couldn't face another chile relleno with Christmas sauce. Looking for a casual, family-friendly place with non-New Mexican cuisine, we happened upon reviews for the Zia Diner. It seemed like the perfect spot for our multi-generational group. And indeed, we had a great experience: Friendly, prompt service, a varied menu with options for kids and delicious food. Our meals ranged from a special pizza, to salads, to the trout with black rice. Everything was fresh and tasty. Excellent margaritas too and when you're traveling with kids, a cocktail is a must. Because Zia Diner is off the plaza, it's not filled with tourists and its pretty easy to find parking. Good value for what you get. I'd return in a heartbeat.
