“Great service, and consistent great food”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

After working with clients all day we ended at Steaksmith for a nice end to a good day. Their appetizers and bar service were great, as always. The atmosphere is really nice - great crowd, and perfect ambience. So many chain restaurants are so noisy that you can't hear others at the table, but Steaksmith serves a lot of people while keeping chaos to a minimum (even after work on a Friday!). We have enjoyed Steaksmith for years, and over time noticed the magnificent teamwork of their servers. They are seamless - attentive, prompt, and consistent. I had the all-you-can-eat salad and fresh hot cheesy baked French onion soup, which is in all ways perfect on a clear fall day. There was a nice mix of couples and groups of friends in the bar, and we enjoyed it very much.

“Subpar service but amazing spinach cheeseballs”
Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

The service at the bar is always nice, however, every time we have sat in the dining room it's as if they don't even care. The servers are very indifferent the food is very average and overpriced. This restaurant is in desperate need of a makeover and a remodel. And for some reason the bathroom always smells disgusting. I just recommend having the spinach cheese balls , they are the most amazing things on the menu!

“Disappointed and Fleeced”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

My husband and I just got into town tonight, and tired from our trip, we went to the nearest steakhouse recommended on our welcome information sheet, Steaksmith, which was said to be very good. I wish we had been able to read the reviews here first because we were very disappointed.

The hostess was an angel, seating us immediately and without a reservation. The appetizer was very good, and so we thought things looked really promising, We started out with a very nice older waitress who did her job well, but a younger lady took over who only seemed interested in her larger tables. We waited for her to refill our drinks for at least 20 min, until another busser/server did it. We actually had many other busser/servers, all very nice, but we could never actually get our waitress, who when she did finally drop by to get plates would always leave before we could order wine with dinner, ask for a refill, or order dessert. The appetizers were great, and so was the baked potato with dinner, but the New York steak, though tender and juicy, was not seasoned, even with salt or pepper. After waiting another several minutes after dinner, our waitress finally asked if we wanted dessert, so we got the bitter chocolate cake, the special, to go. When we opened it up in our room, we were so surprised--it was sooooooo tiny! $6.00 for a slice the size of a 1/4 of an easy bake oven cake, no kidding! It was good, but wow, talk about overpriced for four bites, and she didn't' give us a plastic fork or anything to eat it with. . We also were bothered by flies, one of whom flew into our butter dish and never came out, ugh! So I turned over the dish so we didn't have to look at it, the staff never noticed a thing. Ridiculous to have to spend $90 after all of that.

“good food without venturing downtown”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

Ate there while in Santa Fe for a convention. Best food around the area and good service. The location is headed out of the crowed parts of Santa Fe for a nicer more relaxed and enjoyable experience.

“old, dated and bad”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Old, shabby, dark, dirty, dank. It was that way 15 years ago when I moved about a mile from the place and gone down hill since then. I personally think the food is not very good at all and certainly not worth the prices they charge. Other commenters have said the prices are reasonable. Go to their website and read the menu and decide for yourself. There are a lot of better bars, steakhouses, etc in this town and just nothing redeeming about this place.
