“"Shame on You"”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013

As the expression goes...
We love this place usually. BUT The other night 8 of us dined there and four of us ordered the Cassoulet as one of their "specials". They all arrived cool and without any flavor. This dish is almost impossible to be prepared poorly. Now you could say, why order a French dish in an Italian Restaurant. Good Question. But this restaurant prides itself on its chef; so why not honor him/her by ordering a "special".

On a separate issue, the wine ordered was corked. That can happen anywhere. But they had to call the owner over to adjudicate. It was emabarssing and needless. Will we return? Probably, but not real soon. Too many other good choices in Santa Fe. E caveat emptor. Howard

“Great food with half prices during happy hour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

We ate here twice while in Santa Fe. We came during their happy hour when appetizers and select wines are half price. The appertizers were fairly generous and very well prepared. they had a nice selection of both red and white wines available. Service was courteous and well done. We found thst we could order 2-3 appetizers with a glass of wine and leave with a full stomach and an extrememly reaonable bill. I'd recommend Il Piatto to anyone.

“They sat a large pArty of 20 to the detriment of everyone else. It was loud, and hot. Entrees were delayed. Manager seemed flust”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Worst meal in Santa Fe, terrible food served cold and poor management. They sat table of 20 to the detriment of all the other patrons. Waitress and manager were flustered and did nothing to mitigate the worst experience I have ever had at an expensive Restuarant in this amazing city. Live in Denver and travel here often. You deserve better.

“great food, but weird service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

We had a party of six, but we arrived 3, and a short time later 2. The last person was joining us late. This was aleardy 8:30 in the evening, the restaurant was not busy, so we weren't holding up people. The waiter really did not want to serve us until all arrived. After working 10 hours, that did not set well with us.

The menu was huge and 'fancy' italian (remember I am a Southern gal), the wine list was extensive. Right off the plaze maybe 2 blocks on Marcy Street. Atmosphere was nice.

This was a business meeting of old friends, so we laughed, ate and drank. When the last lady arrived, her meal came out main item first and then salad?/?? We wanted dessert and while the waiter was happy to give us a menu with some gentle prodding, he would not take any orders until we were all ready to order. I might understant this if they were busy, but at 10:00 with two tables, how hard could this be.

While everyone enjoyed the food, I would not go back.

“Good Menu & Great Wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

We were walking around the Plaza and asked some locals where would be a good Italian restaurant. They suggested this place. It is just off the Plaza a couple of blocks and we found it to be very good. The menu is quite extensive and has a wide range of choices with many vegetarian items.. I tried the butternut squash soup and the gorgonzola walnut ravioli and both were ecellent though a bit on the heavy side. They offered both appetizer and entree sized portions which was really nice. The wine list was very good and offered a wide selection. The service too was very good, and the ambiance small but lovely. I would eat here again the next time I visit Santa Fe. It's one to remember!
