We were staying at the La Fonda and it was convenient to go downstairs for a bite to eat. The service was good and the place was busy! The hotel is gorgeous and typical Santa Fe style. We were excited when the Country Western band began to play and the dance floor filled up with dancers. The menu was nice and had an assortment of food. The portions were big. My 12 year old got fish and chips and she finished almost the entire plate- they were that good. My husband and I stuck to New Mexican cuisine and we thought their chile sauces were tasty. The waitstaff was on the ball and we ordered margaritas after dinner, so we could hear the band some more. Honestly, I could not tell the difference between the "house" margaritas and the special $12 margaritas. You could tell they used fresh lime juice, they were very good! I would come here to eat, even if we weren't staying in the hotel. We didn't eat at the lunch buffet during our stay, but it smelled delicious and there were always people there eating.
