This Inn is beyond wonderful. The rooms are beautifully appointed with Tibetan fabrics and rugs alongside southwestern touches. Breakfast is delightful. Our vegan choices were honored and delivered perfectly.

I made a reservation then canceled it the same day. They never sent a confirmation so I did not know there was an administration fee. They charged my account and credited my account less the fee of $50 This booking and cancellation happened in a span of a few hours. I don't think I'll rebook with them. I'll visit the Four Seasons for the ten days.

Dear CG B,

I regret to hear that you feel you were not properly informed of our cancellation and deposit policy at the time of booking. It is very important to us that every guest is aware of our processing fee and policy regarding cancellations. For this reason, I would thank you for letting other future guests know about this fee. We want every guest to feel comfortable with their reservation with us and for that reason, every reservationist is required to read our policy to every guest in order to confirm the reservation. We also include it in a personalized email that contains an attached confirmation, where the policy is once again outlined very clearly. We did in fact verify with the reservationist that the policy was read to you, and we can verify that shortly after you reserved your room a personalized email was sent the same day and received by you, specifically referring to the processing fee associated with any cancellation. In this instance, the reservationist specifically wrote in the email to you, “to reiterate” referring to what she had stated over the phone, and then continued to write out our cancellation and fee policy. It is unfortunate that you would still feel we did not sufficiently convey our policy, contrary to what we can verify was conveyed.

The Five Graces is a small twenty-four room inn that during most times of the year only has a limited number of guest suites available, and as a result, cancellations affect us greatly. We have designed our cancellation policy in a way that would minimize the impact for both the hotel and our guests as well. With a limited number of rooms, last minute cancellations adversely affect us, especially on nights when the room would otherwise have been available for another guest to reserve. We therefore take a deposit to guarantee the reservation, as does most every other hotel. We try to give our guest’s a fair amount of time to cancel, but a $50 processing fee is withheld.

This is because once a guest has confirmed they would like to stay with us and we process their deposit and reservation, we incur costs that will never be returned to us even if a guest cancels prior to the specified cancellation date. For instance, we are charged a fee from the credit card processor that is unfortunately not returned to us, even if the deposit is returned to the guest. That means when a reservation is cancelled, we have lost that fee that the CC Company has taken. In addition, our small size, personalized service and unique room offering makes it more expensive to manage the online availability of every room and process each individual reservation. We are not as automated as a hotel with a large quantity of rooms that are all similar in category. Our sole purpose of this fee is to recoup the fees that we incur once the guest has decided to reserve a room with us and later to cancel their reservation. We are not looking to profit from guests who have to cancel their reservation and do so in the given amount of time.

We make every effort to assure that our guests are confident when booking with us and fully aware of our policies. We work very closely with our prospective guests as we are assisting them with their reservation, and we always encourage them to place a hold up to 24-hours on a room, if they are unsure about the specifics of their reservation. We further understand that in your instance, you had to cancel shortly after you made your reservation and we made several attempts to get in touch with you afterwards to discuss the cancellation, knowing that something may have either come up right after or that you may not have been sure of the reservation. We regret that we were unable to get in contact with you directly or that you did not attempt to return our message or emails to further discuss your cancellation and to have the opportunity to explain the reasoning of our policy.

It is our hope this will serve as a satisfactory explanation of our cancellation processing fee and that you will consider The Inn of The Five Graces upon your next visit to Santa Fe.

April is a fantastic time to visit Santa Fe. The Inn at the Five Graces is a must! One my favorite places to stay, ever! Great location, great staff, great everything. We'll be back simply to enjoy the courtyards and the oasis the Inn creates.

My husband and I just celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Inn and it was magical! It is located on the oldest street in Santa Fe a short walk from the Plaza, restaurants, shops and galleries. The area is quiet and relaxing. Our room, Cottonwood, was perfect for us. Large bedroom, two sitting areas, kitchenette, powder room, fabulous bathroom, two fireplaces and outdoor patio. The decor is spectacular. The tile work in the bathrooms is some of the most beautiful and intricate I've ever seen. The furniture is upholstered in rugs and Suzanis cover many surfaces. Be sure to visit Seret's where all the furnishings come from. We brought a Suzani home as a souvenir.

This is the best hotel staff of anywhere we have ever stayed. They accommodated our every need including some we didn't know we had, such as a humidifier in our room. They surprised us on our anniversary with chocolate covered strawberries and port.

Breakfasts are amazing. Everything in the fridge is complementary.

We love the Inn of the Five Graces and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Santa Fe.

We stayed in November. The Inn is one of the most pleasant properties I have ever experienced.
We are fans of Relais Chateaux properties but I would honestly have stayed here without our
loyalty. From the first greeting at check-in to the last goodbye the staff seemed to appear out of no where with a smile and a willingness to help make your stay enjoyable. Reservations were made at several recommended restaurants, all excellent. Suggestions were made for sightseeing and shopping. The rooms were each unique unto themselves and beautifully decorated. Tile work was awe inspiring. The innkeeper Sharif was a joy. He is really in his element. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Inn of the Five Graces.

We stayed here in March in the Cottonwood suite for four nights. It's a lovely hotel. The mosaic work in the rooms is fabulous. The service is unprecedented and they will not accept tips. We were left alone unless we needed service. While we were gone, turn down service was done and, if we asked, a fire was started in the fireplace. Breakfast was included and was wonderful every morning. The massages where darn good (I'm an LMT so I'm picky). The bed was amazingly comfortable with ample pillows and covers. There is a pull out couch in this suite if you like too. The hotel is within a couple of blocks of the plaza....walking distance but far enough to get away from the shopping energy. This hotel is worth the extra money. My only complaint would be the poor internet in the room, but we talked with them about it and I bet they fix it.

Room Tip: Loved the cottonwood, but I would bet they are all very nice.

I travelled alone and stayed in a Suite at the Inn of Five Graces for 3 nights in March.

Check in went very smoothly, the room was delightful - quite decadent for one! The staff were all very cheerful and accommodating. The rooms are all uniquely decorated, and spotlessly clean, and it is this 'special' factor that makes the Inn of FG stand out for me. You felt like you were cocooned in an exotic abode. The Inn also has a historical significance (being on one of the oldest streets in SF), which makes the stay here more 'authentic'. The place had a very welcoming feel, and the open mini bar just added to this. I had a wonderful massage, so try to fit that in - Rita is a very calming presence.

I wish to thank the management for accommodating a slight hiccup in my booking - they handled it very professionally, and the end result made me very happy - thank you to Sherrif (I think that was his name) for his kind handling of the matter.

The location of the Inn suited me perfectly, I walked everywhere in town that I wanted to go, and felt very safe walking alone at night.
The only small gripe is that the air-conditioning is quite noisy as it cuts in and out.

Santa Fe is a magical town, and if you want to add that special sparkle to your stay, factor in staying at the Inn of Five Graces.
