My wife and I have gone here several times for breakfast during the four seasons eating inside and on the patio. Very good healthy food along with good coffee ( a must for me). The Swiss Bakery recently charged ownership and is serving dinner several days a week. Our server stated they will have a liquor license in the next couple weeks so it will be nice to enjoy a glass of wine with our meal!

Tonight we went to the Swiss Bakery in Santa Fe for dinner. We have loved their pastries for a long time, and often make trips downtown before 3pm to buy pastry before they close. But we just discovered they are now open for dinner 3 nights a week (Thurs/Fri/Sat). The dinner menu expands on their normal lunch menu, and is excellent. We could have eaten inside, but chose instead to eat in their back garden, with beautiful flowers and fountains and Santa Fe Charm!

One member of our party had the Veggie Burger. This is no ordinary Veggie Burger. Totally home made, with a large hearty patty in the burger. Perfectly flavored. Homemade bun. With a house salad before, it was the perfect summer meal, and on the lighter side (to save room for PASTRY!).

And I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Exquisite! Pounded out thin, super savory sliced ham and cheese inside, and done to perfection. This is a personal favorite of mine in the first place, and Swiss Bakery does it to perfection.

The owner surprised us by suggesting that we try his new "Melon Gazpacho" for a very refreshing mid-course. I was a bit timid at first (allergic to tomatoes and flinch when I hear the word "gazpacho"). However it was tomato free, made up of pureed melon and garnished with a bit of shredded cucumber, and just as light and refreshing as it was described. We definitely noticed local and seasonal ingredients being used creatively and beautifully presented, and the Melon Gazpacho was no exception.

And then there is the pastry. Last but not least!! We decided to do a hand picked sampler ... incredible carrot cake, rich dark truffles, crispy biscochitos, and we couldn't resist a dark chocolate croissant and a ham & cheese croissant with green chile for breakfast the next morning.

We were a non-drinking group of friends who came to spend an evening meal together. However we did notice that there is a sign in the window indicating they will begin offering wine & beer within the next couple of weeks.

Having biscochitos to top off such a wonderful meal reminded us of the magic in downtown Santa Fe, and we left chanting "there is no place like home"!

Dropped into this cool cafe on Guadalupe St near Montezuma for a mid-morning coffee and a sweet! Wow! We hardy ever get a correctly made cappuccino and these were perfect (not lattes)! Delicious apple strudel and napoleons. Way better than gulping down a "5 Hour Energy".

I got a dessert to go, a tort with blackberries and raspberries. It was good but not exceptional. It might have tasted better if it had been warmed up. At $4 a little on the high side. Overall, I plan to try other places that serve dessert in Santa Fe before I make a decision to come back or not.
