“Good basic Greek food”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

This is a great restaurant for non-pretentious Greek food. Service is prompt and attentive. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They also have a beer and wine license. There is also another one located in the Design Center close to downtown Santa Fe, but the one on Zafarano is somewhat nicer in atmosphere.

“The best Middle Eastern food I've had in New Mexico”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

Order at the counter - and truly everything on the menu is terrific - and food is delivered to the table in a couple of minutes.

I like the lamb but my dining companion prefers the chicken. The chicken has some seasonings on it that are delicious and addicting. The lamb is seared and sometimes a little crunchy on the outside which I find really appealing.

I've been to Cleopatra's more than 5 times and the only menu item that I wasn't absolutely crazy for was Egyptian Moussaka. It was good but it wasn't amazing.

The prices are reasonable (less than $10 for a plate to food that could feed 2).

“Tasty Middle Eastern food at reasonable prices; you'll enjoy it.”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

We enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine and this Cleopatra's location is near the movie theater we go to most often, making it handy. It's menu, like the that of the other Cleopatra's location, offers a lot of choice. One may select an item, say a falafel, as a sandwich or as a full meal with all the trimmings, further broadening the choices available. Trimmings include tahini formed into a well holding a dollop of olive oil and tabouli salad, with a pungent olive or two and flat bread to mop it all up. One places an order at the counter, chooses a table, and the food is brought out fairly soon thereafter. Presentation is quite good. Food quality as quite high -- read flavorful -- and the serving size will satisfy the diner. They have a good harissa that is moderately hot by my standards and very flavorful. The restaurant interior is generic, any sort of restaurant could occupy the space, and there are some Egyptian prints on the wall, but they will not transport you to the Middle East. We come here for the food, so ambiance really doesn't matter to us. Pretty good wine is poured here and beer is available.
