If Weck's was voted Albuquerque's best brunch, as they claim in their TV ads, the folks in ABQ need to get out more.
Who knew there's a restaurant that makes IHOP seem sensible? It's Weck's, home of the four egg omelette, the three egg breakfast burrito and the giant bowl of hash browns topped with a pound of cheese, eggs and your choice of meats.
Weck's is everything that's wrong with America's eating habits, and they're evidently proud of it, judging from menu items such as "The Big Pig," an omelette with four kinds of meat and pancakes too large to fit on their largest plate. It is an exercise in appalling excess, but the worst thing is that those thousands and thousands of calories don't even taste good.
The servers are friendly and efficient, but that's the only good thing I can say about Weck's.
